Wtf is that all about? When i install a game i want to play it not feck about for an hour while it tells me offline mode isnt ready:frown:

If you bought the game retail, then there have been a lot of updates for HL2 in the past year, all of which you will have to download. It shouldn't take to long to finish though if you are on broadband, so just be patient.

This is the 1st game ive played where u need the patch's for offline play, ah well its working

Meh. My country's 256k ADSL is only a few notches above American 56k. Alright, it's actually about 3 times faster, but that's still slow by Western broadband standards.

LOL, kidding. I don't think I could even find a modem less than 56k for sale, much less that would be available in a PCI slot. Maybe an external USB 28.8k modem? HA! Seriously, though, I had a 56k modem and only connected at 24.4k before wireless became available in my area. I feel your pain.

How dare people complain about downloading at 40KBPS and the like, I have a 33.6KBPS modem, I consider 4KBPS good. Oh and w00t my Dad is the admin for my ISP and were getting free ADSL2+ soon, that's just ownage.
