Wow, I'm only 19 yet I feel older than everybody here. Ghost Hunt, HERO and Zaxxon on the Atari 800XL (circa 1989) do special things for me (Ghost Hunt was the first game I ever remember playing, when I was four - the whole family loved that game). Turrican on the Atari ST (circa 1990) is another old favourite, along with Cannon Fodder and Gauntlet 2 (Red Elf shot the food!).
Super Metroid was another old favourite, along with Castlevania 4 and Zelda 3.
But Secret of Mana...me and my best friend played that from beginning to end together (I wouldn't play it unless he was over at my house, didn't want to spoil anything). Best experience in video game history for me.
