First and far most Valve or Steam cannot tell us that this memmory error causing the game to kick out durring play and before play to be our hardware.

The are way to many people with different videocards and computer setups to say its our problem. This needs to be resolved and not put on the back burner. I payed for a game I cannot play. Not only that with is advanced security feature.. I get error some times validating the new game I baught!

All of my other games work flawlessly. You mean I would have to re-install my pc and only have just the game installed in order for it to have less factors that can cause it to crash?? No I dont think so. Valve beter resovle this issue imediatly or I will file action.. and im sure I would have no problem do a class action on it too. RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. Is it to hard to get an update on progress?? maybe a we have found this to be a problem and we are working on a patch that will correct this issue in a month Id be happy with that at least!!

I was close to buying a brand new computer because of this.. but after see 100+ different people reporting the exact same problem I know its not my pc.

This is rediculous I wait long for the game and its screwed. Great!

my game works great. Finished twice now. Stop being a fat lazy sue happy american. The game has been out 3 days I am sure there will be a patch. I know that I reformated my whole pc and only had steam the hl2 on there because it was fun to prepare for hl2 and I wanted it to run as smooth as possible. Why don't you try that. Reformating is not that big of a deal, I am sure if you had a nasty virus you would do the same thing.

Reformatting can be a very big deal depending upon the complexity of your drives. It is reasonable to expect a game to work when you shell out that much money for it. It seems earily similar the Deus Ex 2 problems.

Quoted from the steam eula:

VALVE DOES NOT GUARANTEE CONTINOUS, ERROR-FREE, VIRUS-FREE OR SECURE OPERATION AND ACCESS TO STEAM, THE STEAM SOFTWARE, YOUR ACCOUNT AND YOUR SUBSCRIPTIONS(S). YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE RISK WITH RESPECT TO THE PERFORMANCE AND RESULTS OF THE STEAM SOFTWARE IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR HARDWARE.

Steam software being:
software, other content and updates

So, in other words, read the EULA before you come here thinking you have some kind of twisted legal case.
