In that news post on the main page, lombardi says "we cannot activate HL2 at THIS TIME"

He didn't say anything about the 16th, I find this quite worrying, even though this is Doug Lombardi saying this, I have a bad feeling that VU are going to say, NO you can't activate half-life 2 because of legal BS etc.

the fact that he doesnt say the date also could mean that they're still trying to get it out early, just a thought but you'd think he'd have told those who "have bought the game" when it'll be activated in the press release

I seriously thought that when I looked at this thread it was going to be another attempt to somehow convince yourself that the game was coming out earlier than the 16th.

But LATER?

Vivendi is depending on sales from HL2 to stay in business. There's no way they'll stall it past the 16th. They don't want Valve to release it on steam before hand because if they do, thousands of retail sales will be lost to steam.

You can quote me on this - There is no way HL2 is being released AFTER or BEFORE November 16th 2004.
