Noticed this "glitch" in new HDR-video...

Not whining or bitching, just pointing out this thing I noticed, video itself is amazing so shove your flames.


In the video, when gordon gets up near that antlion guard and looks back towards citadel (big tower), you can see "light-cones" sticking out from the roof of the room video begins. Theyre propably just left-outs from fast-made demonstration, but who knows. I dont know much about modelling but I assume that kind of stuff is relatively ease to fix.

Now someone go make a screenshot about it and draw huge red circle-wannabe around it ;-)

ps. oh and if this has already been posted, I'll delete this one.

hehe yeah your right- although their not cones, they are just the actual light mesh- another reason to believe this was just a quick thrown together demo to display dx9 and not something from the game.
 
you are nitpicking the benchmark way too much, it is'nt even in the final game so relax...
 
I dont care either, just spending my time watching the movie over and over and over ;-)

If you read my post carefully, you find Im not nitpicking, just pointing out stuff and wondering if anyone else noticed that already. Stuff like that doesnt really bother me because Im sure it can be fixed in no-time. Just spending my time. :)
 
actually thats a huge bug if it were to ship with the game- but for tech demo i dont care.

Thats what Im assuming too, its propably just because tech demo was thrown together to demonstrate DX9-capabilities (which it REALLY does), not to show perfect mapping.

You mean those beams of light coming through the shack he was in? I thought that was a graphical feature and looked pretty cool.

Yep, theyre cool, but Im not sure if theyre supposed to be seen over the roof of that room.

i wannt get in that first room with a shot gun and a crowbar and wreck havoc.
i bet i could take the building down with 3 shots to the support beams

If you look over here you'll notice that the map ends abruptly
 
Hey, i've noticed a bug in this video too, at one point when the character in on the roof, two spheres appear in front of him! lol I know it's not funny... :) no, seriously i think it's cool that u pointed out those glitches, u have good observation skills
 
Guys this was just a real quick map they made to show how environments look when wet. They didn't design the rest of the city past the little rooftops, and they didn't extensively beta test it. They just slapped a map together to show us how the monsters and environments look when wet.

wet has nothing to do with it

they were trying to show that source can use powerful dx9 shaders
 
there is anotherone where you can see the end of the light rays when he exits the attic and they are all square.

You'll know what i'm talking about when you see it, it isnt normal like that :)

THIS GAME IS GONNA OWN ANYWAYS!!

Well it looked like it was after a rain storm and the environment was way too freaking shiny otherwise. I realize they were testing the shaders but this is also probably what the game will look like in wet environments.
