I just use them as handy dandy coasters. I meant, come on, they literally scream "put hot dripping coffee mugs on me!"

geesh.. How many CDs do you really get from AOL?

They must be freaking polluting the entire world with that.

I knew someone whos mum used to use them to scare away birds in the garden. That works well btw.

hmmm, I havent got any AOL cds through my door in years :)

Put them in the microwave for about 10 seconds, but do it at night with the lights off... you get a wicked lights-show with blue sparks dancing across the surface of the CD... and as a bonus, when you take the CD out, its got a pretty pattern on it.

Don't leave it in there for long after the lights shows over though, they do tend to smell a bit. :D

(btw. before any of you noobs say anything about microwaves blowing up, just don't. It's impossible for a microwave to blow up by putting metallic objects in it. If you want an exploding microwave, just put an egg in it (unbroken) for about 30 secs.)

Have you seen the Sky1 science show Brainiac: Science Abuse?

I used to love that show, not seen it in a while though.

EDIT: actually I remember the one with the exploding microwave, I cant remember what they put in it though, some weird chemical wasnt it?

That went up with a bang! :D

I think it was a balloon fillied with propane and oxygen, with a spoon attached to provide a spark. They used the same stuff to blow up a caravan when they were testing so-called 'unbreakable objects'.

Ah yeah I remember now, excellent stuff. That caravan went up with a bang too!! :D

Remember when they got the army in to fire a tank shell at that safe?? there was nothing left of it (no money left either)...

Oh well, that was my kind of entertainment. :P MORE!!!

Yeah, I hope they took the money out before they did that. I hate to see money wasted...

aol cds, and any dead cd, work great as throwing stars :)

Hmmm, more like throwing circles, but I guess they could cause a nasty bruise.

Myself, whenever I get an AOL cd through the mail, if I have something to do, I just open the door and frizbee it. If i'm bored, I break out the BB Gun. ;)

my brother said they got a load from some electical store and drove around the streets doing AOL drive bys :P

If you whip 'em at a wall, they practically explode when they hit...

Want something cool to do with a microwave? Light a candle, then blow it out. While it's still smoking, stick it on the microwave plate (You might want to actually stick it to a saucer, then put that on the microwave plate), then set it to high for whatever length of time you want. Enjoy.

Throwing AOL CD's on train tracks is great fun, I'd recomend it to anyone.

what kind of CDs do you have that literally scream that? :P

Isn't there some sort of group that's trying to collect a million of them so they can dump them at AOL headquarters?

The Bush Administration?

Try sticking a pop tarts wrapper in a microwave. My roommate did that. I literally saw an arc that went from the wrapper to the little light bulb in the microwave. Needless to say the the lightbulb was burnt out (but the poptarts were nice and toasty). I didn't stop laughing till the next day.

Grape Juice

Things needed.

1. A red grape.
2. Knife.
3. Microwave,
4. Plate (optional).

Procedure:

1. Take a red grape and cut it in half using the knife.
2. Place the grap halves on the plate (or just on the turntable) so the cut surface is pointing up and they are barely touching each other.
3. Put the plate in the microwave.
4. Turn the microwave on high.
5. Watch the pretty arc of electricity dance between the grape halves.
6. Eat the hot, burnt grapes (optional)

Back to the origional topic, I collected as many AOL disks as would fit in my mailbox, and then stuffed it full before the mailman came, with a nice note taped on all of them.

Needless to say, no more aol disks for me.

lol!

"nooo, cheap internet!!!"

Yeah cds explode pretty good if you smack 'em.... toss it up in the air so it stays horizontal, and then smack with a stick. It'll literally explode, and then printed side, will glitter down slowly... looks really frikkin cool. Big mess to clean up tho, so do it at a friends house.

i know... AOL discs BEST use is filling up dustbins.
HA!

i have 15 or so cds..they can make neat light reflections with a disco ball and some black lights =)

I put them 4 seconds in the microwave...
Pretty cool. you should try this out...

I pile up all of them that I get after every month (sometimes when I'm in Gamestop / EB, BestBuy etc. I grab Earthlink / AOL CD's just so I can do this) and line them all up. Sometimes I string some up from a tree outside my house. Then I unload on them with my airsoft gun ^__^ :D Tokyo Marui G36C AEG w/high-capacity magazine holding @ max ~470 rounds... I suddenly love AOL and their shitty CD's. :)

It actually relieves quite a bit of stress :p.

i have about 700 aol cds, there making quite a nice collection on my ceiling. looking quite nicly too. need a few hundred more to finish it off. if getting sorta ahrd to get my hands on them. heres a quick web cam shot of a bit of them. any help to finish my project would be apreacioated
