Computer And Video Games is reporting today thay they got word from "an industry insider speaking under strict conditions of anonymity" that "as far as Vivendi is concerned, the game is finished":
A BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) spokesperson has confirmed with us within the last few minutes that the government body is indeed in possession of Half-Life 2. However, they could only add at this stage that the first-person shooter is "under evaluation", as far as certification is concerned.

And what, you're no doubt wondering, does Vivendi have to say about all this? Well, actually so are we at the moment. We'd like to report, but at the time of going to press the publisher remained unavailable for comment
The industry insider added that a November release is now looking "extremely likely".

I'm sure Vivendi would love that too.

And the folks from the Bungie offices down the road from me would be standing outside of my local EBX laughing their asses off, counting all the Halo 2 purchases from the Half-Life 2 ones.

I would be annoyed if this game was released any later than the first week of November.

Bad move. HL2 would lose sales like anything.

i really doubt any of them would loose sales cause they are on different platforms and hell..some people will buy both (like me!) :D

I doubt it. If they were on competing platforms, I'd agree.

Think about the numerous amount of teenagers who only have a good 50-60 bucks to spend on a new game.

And I'd bet 90 percent of them don't even know what HL2 is.

It may surprise you, but teens aren't the group that games sell the best with. Young adults buy more games.

And some of us buy the games to recapture our youth ;)

In my school (11th grade) all you hear is halo 2 this and gta5 that....and SOMTIMES they might even have heard of hl1 as "that game with that geeky dude right?" or "the game that cs is for". only my friends know hl2 exists...

You guys..............the moment has come..........
i love you all!!!!!!!!!!!11111111
I will never forget you guys when i disappear from excisitence
playing HL2 for 6 monthes!!

I would love to see Half Life 2 released before November 9th. Unlikely, sure, but that, in my opinion, would be optimal.

(November 9, for those of you who don't know, is the release date for Halo 2. Shouldn't affect the pc-only crowd, but I'd like to see Valve kick Bungie in the pants).

Nerds slapping each other as they are trying to get thier preorded boxes and the clerks will be over run by thier power

Actually it would be... entertaining to see a small riot over a game
I bring the guns and everyone else bring the beer
