Yesterday i started working on a portal\Half-life 2 movie which i am creating with the thinkingwithportals people.
I am running into a few problems and people on there can't seem to answer a few of my questions.

So...

Is there a way to Parent a NPC to something when it doesn't have any I/O's for Parenting?

Also i Got a parent type system working with an NPC maker onto a track train after it spawns... but the thing is later on i want it to disable it's parent which it doesn't want to do since well.. it was created by an NPC_Maker and can't be defined by a name.

Cheers,
Mapster

Why are you gonna parent an npc? That would just look wierd IMO. And if you get an NPC on a train so that it moves, why cant you just kill the train later on?

Hmm, i never thought of that, but anyways for the movie that i am making, i want some claws to come out of the walls and place turrets on the floor then the claw goes back into the wall then monsters can knock the turret over.

Fake it. Have the claws move a prop_dynamic and once that is in place you kill it and then you spawn the NPC at the exact same spot, at the same time.

Looks like an npc is being carried although it's not.

I did that after trying 100 different things, after not finding our what i wanted it did what you suggested before you suggested heh.

Thanks though!
