Nuclear Nightmares: Chernobyl 20 years later

Chernobyl is a warning against incompetence, mismanagement. stupidity, small-mindedness, beurocracy and short-sightedness (and, in ways, communism) rather than nuclear power per se.

Regardless, have you actually investigated the whole incident? Have you checked the statistics on the cancer rise? Listened to the stories of survivors, read the accounts, seen the pictures?

3 metre catfish! I mean, seriously! D:

It's not like there's no precedent cough hiroshima cough.

In India the biggest such tragedy was the Union Carbide gas leak in Bhopal.

And those mutha******s were never tried for the crime, because the company wasn't based in our country. :flame:

why did some countries want to invent the nuclear bomb, thats crazy

What he said...

Are you saying that radiation Does'nt cause such damage?

Or that they are faking it there, for some unknown reason?

What I'm saying is that I don't believe everything I see on the internet.

Doubtless there are people who are suffering as a direct result of the accident at Chernobyl, and I'm sure their problems are severe and look similar to the people in those images, but I'm not going to believe everything I'm told on the internet. For all I know those images could be of perfectly random mutations, there is no corroborating evidence to support that they were victims of Chernobyl.

To my eyes, its just another bullshit website on the internet designed to create shock, while not actually offering any kind of information we can use to cross-reference their sources.

The site may be bullshit, but Chernobyl is not. I have a recent issue of National Geographic in my room that gives a detailed look at how horrendous the Chernobyl disaster was. And the details are not pretty :|
