Nvidia 180xx drivers=constant stuttering

The game is currently unplayable for me because Valve still hasn't bothered to address the random freezing/stuttering issue the game has with the latest drivers.
Every other game that i have runs perfectly fine with these drivers, including the Half Life games and its mods. The performance even increased in games such as Crysis Warhead and GTA 4. Yet this game continues to randomly stutter.
