My friend has asked me if the new drivers would heat up his cpu temp. He has a GeForce 2 mx400.

I have the same card and dled the new drivers. I ran a game and it was all messed up. I reverted back to an older driver and it was fixed. Not that this is much help. Anyway, I would also like to know.

new drivers dont increase temperature...

they hopefullying increase performance and remove bugs... (but you never know it may add a new bug... which seems to be happening in all driver releases... for all companies...)

i doubt changes being made to nvidia drivers at the moment will have any positive effects on older cards.

they are for the FX series only.....

at a certin point, older hardware will become obsolete..... currently the forceware driver series does not support older windows operating systems, they where mostly looking at improvements only on newer cards also.

I installed them on my brother's 1.67GHz with a GeForce2.. Max Payne 2 ran quite alot smoother than it did with the previous driver set, and I've heard many reports of it helping FPS on all nVidia cards

Yea, i've seen many a post praising the new drivers on all cards. I myself have a 5900 regular and i must say that I'm pleased at these new drivers. Can't wait to test it on a true dx9 game and not just crappy 3dmark2003
