NVIDIA have today released a beta version of their latest Forceware drivers. The driver version is 78.05 and although we don't normally cover driver updates on this news page, this one does actually have some relevancy.[br]Day of Defeat: Source will be out in around 2 hour 30 minutes and these drivers fix a "compatibility problem" for Half Life 2: Lost Coast and Day of Defeat: Source.[br]You can find the rest of the details and the download link on their website here.

1 hour and 90 minutes mate? dont you mean 2.5 hours?? :E

looks like nVidia are pulling their socks up at last

there's no "compatibility problems" with the latest ATI drivers, are there?

My ATi card, and Suicide's ATi card ran the game beautifully on the current drivers... In fact, my drivers are relatively old so no, there shouldn't be any compatibility issues.

Yes, ok, it's 2.5 hours, but I cannot count because I suck :p

Yea, technically 1 hour 90 minutes was correct.. but 90 minutes is 1 hr and 30 min..

Silly brits.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME!!

SUHWEET!!! Glad I updated my driver yesterday

Man, what's with all the updates and news now just before DoDS? It's like rush hour in here. Anyway, this rocks, but I'm lazy when it comes to drivers, so I'm glad I have an ATi card.

DoDS FTW!

It's because we were too busy over the weekend to cover any mod news, also it just so happens that every single mod and website out there has just decided to update their content... just to keep me busy I reckon.

Bastards :flame:

:D Also, in truth, we've been quite lazy over the last few months and I want that to stop. If it means I have to write every single news post myself, then so be it. I've got Suicide working hard too which is great :)

Can anyone download it and upload it somewhere for me? The download keeps timing out :(

Just let Suicide handle the time!
Quiet you! :p

There's four mirrors on that site... surely not all of them are timing out?

They do, they are all just different subdomains from nvidia.com. I can browse the site, but the download times out :(

Do I need to download these or should I wait to see if it runs first?

There is no catalyst driver for nVidia too...

HL2/DoD:S support now SM 3.0 (check it with mat_info).

Anyone know if you still need to force the GeForce FX series video cards to DirectX 8.1 with this driver update? Or can we run reasonable FPS with DX 9 now?

I'll check it out when I get home tonight.. just curious if anyone else has already noticed.

So how do these holdup with dod and source games in general?

im running on the 78.05 drivers, and dod is running fine for me
