ExtremeTech posted an article detailing how NVIDIA's Half-Life 2 benchmark was inaccurate. With the benchmark, ATI's graphics cards came far ahead in terms of performance. NVIDIA disputes these tests and responds with a long statement that includes some interesting comments.
Also, they talked about why NVIDIA's cards weren't up to the level ATI's were for the benchmarks."During the entire development of Half Life 2, NVIDIA has had close technical contact with Valve regarding the game. However, Valve has not made us aware of the issues Gabe discussed."
"The optimal code path for ATI and NVIDIA GPUs is different - so trying to test them with the same code path will always disadvantage one or the other."
