Nvidia Sli

wow,

I guess alienware doesn't have such of a monopoly anymore...

yeah i know.

but whats really cool is that you can get the new 6600 GT PCI-E which has SLI, pick up two of those babys, oh yeah, whaday have?

1000mhz core and 2000mhz GDDR3 memory. holy shit. for $400, thats less then the high end cards.

Dont mean to be rude but this is kinda old news. But whatever.
Something new though is they set a 3dmark05 record with over 7000points. I think it was very close to reaching 8000.

Nope, a single x800 Xt Pe beat them

Thats a SINGLE x800 xt pe beating TWO yes 2 TWO 6800 ultras in Sli.

Now over hear in canada 2 6800 ultras would cost in the region of 1300ish dollars, while a single x800 xt pe that kicks them in the nades costs about 700 dollars :naughty:

lol ah nvidia, first getting your 5950 Ultra kicked in the nades by an old mainstream 9600xt, and now this. ;)

Read article at HardOCP again...

NVIDIA’s has put out a press release because they are happy that a 6800Ultra SLI system snagged the top 3DMark 05 score. This is important right now to NVIDIA because most 3DMark 05 reviews are showing ATi’s top dog card out in front of NVIDIA’s lead mush dog in single card head to head testing (no SLI ).

:O Where does it say the x800 xt PE acheiving a score of 7000+? I only heard a single one getting up to 5800

I swear none of you people on these fourms READ, you all have selective reading or something, skipping things you don't want to see etc.

Here I'll put a link in BOLD so you might see it easier

CLICK HERE TO SEE ATI SCORE
:E

oh and its not just a single "x800" either, basically the first page and on is just x800 cards.

cept for this (obvious cheating) http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=22761

:) It's mandatory that we search for info in their forums ?

No im talking about these fourms here, no one seems to read complete threads. if anything they skim a few posts and then make their own post complaing etc or what not when they don't have all the facts.

 That's why when you have something to say to prove something else wrong you provide links RIGHT AWAY in which you did not. I mean you claimed one x800 XT PE, beat the power of 2 6800 Ultra's I mean come on that IS kinda hard to believe. Also, if that link Asus posted was to the same thing, sorry... but it didn't work for me.

EDIT: I mean it brought me to a logon page.

So yeah, blame yourself. 'Cause honestly your post looked like utter BS. Guess not, because you did what? Provided a link, YAY! How it works here thank you good bye.

HIS Ati got the high marks, but when you bench the cards on the same machine they come a little closer. Although ATI is still far ahead.

Nvidia does some damn good driver optimizations for their video cards to compete with ATI. As is shown with these benchmarks.

Their is newer drivers comeing from both partys very soon too.

Just found out that most of the X800 xt's that beat the SLI's score were insanely overclocked...no wonder they beat it.But badass anyways...

Just to let you know, his A64 is overclocked to 2.8ghz, and his X800XT PE is overclocked to 700 something core and 600 (double it) something memory. He got a higher score because his video card and cpu were overclocked by a lot.

Wrong!

Mabye YOU should learn to read :dozey:

Nvidia SLI setup (using two 6800 ultras)

7229 3dmarks.

A SINGLE x800 Xt PE: 7777 3dmarks.

"aka Nvidia owned again"

:p
ATI card had to be CLOCKED AT 300 MHZ OVER ITS DEFAULT. The guy had to USE DRY FRIGGIN ICE to cool it. In other words it was a one time deal not a real score. If you want to play that game you could to the STOCK clocked 6800's and overclock them the same way.. Hmmm, lets see score probably would be around 12000!!! Geez look at the facts and quit being a fanboy. My previous three video cards where ATI (9700Pro, then 9800 Pro, then 9800XT) but I switched to NVIDIA because of better overall performance. If ATI one day fairly beats Nvidia then guess what, I will go with them!

Not worth it (SLI) since ATI is going to release their next card (in a few months) and it will probobly score over 10000 in 3dmark05

No single card on the AGP bus will score above 10000...maybe on PCI..

...Express? :D
Actually if the core and memory performance increased then it could gain much performance. Cards today transfer data to the system over the PCI, AGP or PCI-Express very rairly. That's why 8X and PCI-Express hardly makes a difference.

Although you are right, they won't make a superior/matching AGP card vs PCI-Express. That would be keeping a dead horse alive or promoting old standards.

The way in which he OCed the card can be sustained. I agree that comparing stock vs OCed cards is not fair but what it was all about is having the highest 3Dmark2005 score on record.
