Nvidia Vs. Radeon

Ok for hl2 which is better. nVidia 5900FX 256mg or the Radion 9800 Pro 256mg. Now i dont want to get all the crap from people who are completely biast about the card they have. If you have some advice on which is better please mention why or a link to the wesite who's stats you thnk are credible. Thanks

do some research, the 256meg version will not give you more than 1fps or so more than the 128 meg one.

this is because games don't use high quality enough textures to take advantage of the extra video ram. not even hl2 does. the extra 128meg will be useful in the future, but you'll probably need to upgrade the speed of your card before then, imo

Going on the recent benchmarks released by Valve, the 9800Pro produced approximately twice the frame rate of the 5900FX card in DirectX 9 mode. This is because FX cards very poorly support the new direct X 9 features. The top FX card got ~ 30fps in 1024 x 768 with every thing turned up full. The 9800Pro got ~ 60fps.
