NYTimes 4chan article.

I thought it was an interesting read, examining an internet subculture of sorts. I think where baiting becomes actual harassment (as with the parents of the suicide) is pretty out of order myself, but unfortunately there isn't really much you can do when people that determined and organized take it upon themselves to go after you it seems.

What is the internet's obsession with 4chan? I've gone to the site myself and I must say that I found nothing really interesting about it. Yeah, people go there to be dicks, big woop!

Once you've seen one meme filled post, you've seen them all.

Which innevitably will make it everywhere else on the internet and be repeated so many times that you'll want to punch the person who created it.

Speaking of which:

I get a "incomplete trace record; cannot acheive user defined goal"?

Anyway, yeah, there are a few gems, I'd suppose. There was a "favorite nazi" thread, and I learned all those things about rommel and etc. Then it turned into some kind of loli nazi hentai thread, which was disturbing, but fine, to say the least.

/b/ is like hetairia without the class,

and without adequate entry restrictions.

Anyone who supplied information for that article is an attention seeking whore and nothing more.

Anonymous are attention seeking whores, just not by identifiable name.

I never understood how these guys lack so much empathy. The idea of someone like Weev existing bothers me, a crazy person with a crazy philosophy and a lot of power over many. His response to the article is here- weev.livejournal.com

Simple; they utterly hate themselves so much that they forget about what others think of them, or they just hate the human race's guts.
How I do it.

it might have already been said, but these people get off on pissing as many people off as possible. If you right a damn article about it you're only further supporting their cause.
