I heard about him appearing on the show. Definitely going to check out that episode. Don't get what you are talking about though.

Anyway, I thought the one dude from Mythbusters died like a year ago.

Seriously? You can't be that simple-minded. You know this is to encourage children to become interested in the Sciences? Appearing on a show is work, you know that right? That's why actors generally get paid. This isn't a vacation. Speaking of vacation, at least he doesn't spend half his time at the ranch.
 
I thought this thread was going to be about how Obama isn't actually "black" and how hes only half black, and that it would be a commentary on how stupid it is of people to say someone with both a white and a black parent is just one or the other. I mean, nobody ever mentions how hes not actually black, just like hes not actually white. But you always hear "hes our first black president!" and shit. Then I was hoping the discussion would delve into why we should even make the distinction.

But I guess myth busters is ok too.

I'd just like to say that, more likely than not, Obama isn't going to have to do anything. It would be more work for him to go on The Daily Show than to get his family tree retraced by the Mythbusters.

In my opinion, this is just a shot at more airtime for him to use in the coming election, because I don't know of a single kid who is going to think science is cooler because the president came on a TV show. They want to see explosions, and then go play video games. They don't give a shit if this clown shows up. To them the president is just a guy, and apparently this is going to be one of the more boring experiments, where nothing explodes. I really don't see the logic they're using. i think anyone who isn't biased would agree, but hey, maybe I'm biased.

The only reason my stepfather can afford the medication that keeps him alive (after finding out he needs an organ transplant), is because of the massive breaks in the price of his medication he gets thanks to Obama. It was only after finding out he can't afford the medication that Obama was elected and things changed practically overnight. So, I guess you could say he literally owes his life to the president, and it just baffles the mind where he can't see past his inner redneck enough to not want to see Obama impeached (or whatever he thinks).

But I said in my post, maybe I'm biased. to me, that would say that I really don't think I know what I'm talking about, that's just a knee-jerk reaction to the topic. As for your attack at my intelligence, I think it's wasteful, and silly to get so upset over such a small issue. I'm not stupid, I was ignorant, and I expressed that in my first post by saying "Maybe I'm biased." You seemed to willfully ignore that part. I'm not out to change anybody's opinion, just to express mine. For god's sake, feel free to enlighten me with your opinion, but when you turn it into an attack like that, nobody is going to want to listen.

But at what cost? I mean, good for your stepfather and all, but the money for his medication doesn't come out of nowhere. It's taken out of taxes; his and everyone else's. And while I know socialists love the 'tax the rich, they can afford it' refrain, eventually that supply of money is going to dry up, and the system is going to have to move further and further down the social ladder to support itself. To quote Margaret Thatcher: "The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money."

And that's my little interjection on the subject. I'll go back to my corner now.
