Obama actually not black

Is he going to announce his restructuring of the Discovery Channel networks because they are too big to fail?

Or are they going to test the myth that he turned around the economy?

Im always amused at how people always pull the "but its really expensive!" card when we have a rediculously out of control military budget that we can't afford either. Frankly, We're going to be in debt either way, I say we keep growing our debt to pay for health care, and we move our "but our taxes!" whining to the military camp.

But at what cost? I mean, good for your stepfather and all, but the money for his medication doesn't come out of nowhere. It's taken out of taxes; his and everyone else's. And while I know socialists love the 'tax the rich, they can afford it' refrain, eventually that supply of money is going to dry up, and the system is going to have to move further and further down the social ladder to support itself. To quote Margaret Thatcher: "The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money."

And that's my little interjection on the subject. I'll go back to my corner now.
We are taxed on nearly everything in this country. He worked and paid taxes on his vehicles, homes, shopping, food, and paid taxes out of every paycheck on top of that, along with health insurance. He started working at 16 and had to retire due to this illness, at about 56 years old. That all adds up to a fortune over 40 years. He paid his own way. Nearly all 310 million of us do.

I don't know the details of the discounts on the medication (I will find out), but he's still paying for it, just not the insane amount that it used to cost; a cost that would make it inaccessible to all but the financially elite.

Social healthcare seems to work for every other G8 nation.

the other people would get money working in industries not related to goverment, but since in solcialism there is not private corporations cuz "money is evil" then they run out of money

Yeah, it seems to be working wonderfully for Canada, with their...what is it, like eight MRI machines in the entire country? To the point where Canadians needing to be scanned and/or treated for cancer, or even have simple operations, come here because there aren't ridiculous waiting lists.

Ehm well Canadians still have a much higher life expectancy than yankees, so they can't be doing that badly...

ya that's a lot of bullshit

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compar...ystems_in_Canada_and_the_United_States#Cancer

survival rates are about the same in canada and the US when it comes to cancer HOWEVER that survival rate depends on socio-economic class in the US which isnt the case in canada as healthcare is provided to every canadian ..not just those with money like it is the US

this is a stupid misleadign statement unless you can back up your alarmist statement with some facts. and not just one person; you're saying that the lines are so big in canada that they HAVE NO CHOICE but to come to the US for treatment. surely this would be easy to prove if it's actually true

and despite or waiting times our system doesnt shut out a single canadian unlike your system that has 43 million americans without insurance. and even then our system is cheaper, more efficient and has better results that your system

stop believing the bullshit the republicans are force feeding you:

If it is anything like the situation over here in the Netherlands, it probably is a fact but a distorted one: Rich Canadians going over the border to private American clinics. Yes, public health care does have waiting times, but there aren't lives at stake. If your case of a particular illness is a severe one you get helped in time. People with a lot of money simply have an extra choice to buy quicker treatment.

more often than not it's to try experimntal drugs or procedures as our approval process is (on average) longer than the FDA's

yes I dont know why this fact is overlooked. every emergency room has a triage system in place; I'm surprised this wouldnt just occur to people that this would be the case. I mean how else would it work?

Funny, because the FDA bans imported drugs, and its up to big companies that are more likely to water down drugs or test them improperly in order to get approval...

Why else would people here take headache relief pills that have a chance for dizziness, trouble reading, heart attack, blood clot, stroke, coma and/or death...
