Sorry, not going to happen, and even if it did, it would never work here in the US. It would be just like the 1920's prohibiton riots that happened here in the US all over again, only with guns instead of alcohol. Although many of you Europeans and Canadians, and even many Americans too, would love to see that day happen I'm sure.
As for the sterilization program, which *ahem* GROUP are you referring to I wonder? *eyes Kadayi suspiciously* :|

BTW, my father has a semi-auto, 50-round drum clip, sub-Thompson he said he'll pass down to me one day. Authentic too. Coolest gun ever! "You can't take Rocky's guns away See? M'yeah M'yeah!"
I personally have no interest in guns enough to go out and buy any myself tbh, but I'd happily take any hand-me-down heirlooms from my father.

Also, not every gun owner is a thug or redneck. I swear if someone ever called ME a redneck in person just for owning a gun..... (I don't own any though) I'm NOTHING like a redneck.
Some people are just avid collectors believe it or not. Mostly antiques though because to a gun collector, newer stuff just has no class or character. Some things are like fine wine to certain people.

However, I'd still use one on any strange person in an immediate situation who threatens the life of family or friends I love (i.e. mugger, break-in) because I can't fight worth a shit.
I wouldn't give it second thought or lose any sleep over it either. They tried to kill someone I loved, so f*** em'. The security of those close to me is paramount.

A very neat idea and it's nice to see our new president embracing 21st centry technology to better communicate with his pupils. We need better use of the internets than...uh, well, this really.
