Occarina of Time

I managed to beat Bongo Bongo with a quarter of the heart for the whole battle. I'm hardcore like that ;)

I'm really weak, I can't defeat the Stalfos Knights in the Small Key room in Forest Temple... sob. I know you're supposed to whack it when it moves its shield but I keep getting owned.

EDIT: Oh yeah, Ingo got owned... heh.

We NEED an OoT DS. With tons of extra stuff- improved graphics, new items, new characters, new areas, new temples... :o

er... actually, in theory, all the new material would be sweet, but when it comes down to it, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. OoT is already perfect- I'd be content with a direct port, tbh.

I think all that needs to be done is a graphics overhaul and maybe they could slightly change the temples. I'm not sure how they could add more temples, or new areas.

here's hoping for Occirana of Time: Source!

But in all actuallity Twighlight princess looks like it should be an absolute blast. And for a different take on Oot I would reccomend the Master Quest on the Gamecube. it really does make it much more difficult.

Is the differnet between the normal version and the Master Quest vesion, harder dungeons?

Pretty much, and cows...lots of cows.

:O

Why is there lots of cows?

I have no idea myself, I only got up to the Fire Temple (adult). But every dungeon beforehand had a randomly placed cow, most notably Jabu Jabu. He had cows sticking out of his innards, and you had to shoot them as part of some puzzles D:

Yeah, Master Quest was a blast, but it's not as good as the original. The dungeons may be a bit more confusing, but they don't make sense and "flow" like the originals.

Still, it's a must-have for the big fans.

I also prefer the orginial version, much easier. I felt it was best to play the game how I remember playing then a different version which felt alien to me.

After reading this thread i just went and started playing wind waker again (not wanting to bother with an emulator and not having master quest or being able to find my original oot cartridge for n64)

What an awesome game, ive been playing it in the ''ive finished the game so now i can wear sandals, a blue shirt and shorts'' way and just gotten upto where you get the deku leaf

Just as fun as playing it the first time round :D

Windwaker's awesome :D

Didn't you get a copy of OOT and Master Quest with it, though?

I'm replaying through Wind Waker. I love this game so so much. This time through though I'm going to get a picture of the first boss. Remember that place on the Deku islands with the model collector? I had like, every character or enemy in the game sculpted except the first few bosses. Gotta get 'em all, this time.

Nah, bought it in USA, you only got OOT and master quest if you preordered it IIRC

Not that it makes a difference, wind waker is one hell of a game :D

Yes it is. Although the world doesn't really draw me in the way OoT's did, it's still absolutely fantastic.

Wind Waker needed bigger islands. The world was huge, but everything was pretty small.

I've never played WW.

Check it out, it's great fun. A few of my favourite gaming moments from this generation were in WW. Let down slightly by all the bloody sailing :/

i loved- and still love that game. the puzzles were so cool. and the music wasn't bad, either. i like the forest temple song.

Oh man, the Gerudo Valley Theme is one of the best videogame songs ever. I want to learn it on guitar.

Perhaps because he doesn't have a GameCube?
That's no excuse.

I buy games for systems I don't have. ;D

I also watch speed runs of games I might like, and make the decision off that.

I watched Wind Waker a couple days ago and it is indeed a better game than purported by masses of OoT fanboys.

The good thing about speed runs is for games like this, it spoils very little as the most direct path is taken and all uneccessary parts avoided, and I like to play in the opposite manner, looking in every crack and crevice I can find.

ocarina of time got a 10 rating on www.gamespot.com

the rom doesn't really work...the start menu is messed up

It's one of the highest rated games around...with good reason. If the rom doesn't work, it very likely the emulators fault. Go to the emulator forums and I can guarantee you there'll be a post on the best emulator settings for OoT.
