It's not as if they were deliberately trying to deceive you people. There's a difference between lieing to people and being wrong about something. When you put the wrong answer down on a test, are you branded a lier? Of course not, because you guessed. Valve are guessing, estimating, and as such they can be wrong. You people treat everything they say as written in stone, which is just ignorant. And if you've been following HL2 since it was announced, you should know all of this by now, and should have come to expect this sort of thing (hell, if you follow video games in general, this sort of thing shouldn't surprise or anger you, because it happens all the time).

Patience is a virtue many of you are lacking. Stop complaining, please, and just wait. It just gets on everyone else's nerves.

Oh for God's sake. Yes they were lying. They were still saying the game was going to come out a week before Sept 30 2003. Basically to drive up sales of ATI cards. The game was nowhere near complete, but they kept at it. How many times must we go through this?

As you say yourself they're not lies, you were asked to find any lies from Valve. And if you do not plan your deadlines, you probably won't be done at all.

Also as already said the quote is old, and fall doesn't nessecarily mean november or similar. Right now Vampires: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is out for a 12th october release. Which means that Half-Life 2 is expected to be done, well atleast a week before that.

Information the author of that article used to formulate the opinion that HL2 is delayed until the fall? The exact same information that led many others to say the end of the summer.

Conclusion? That is just the authors educated guess on the release date of HL2 just like many other educated guesses by people on the many HL2 forums predicted end of summer. Don't take this like it is some sort of new insite into the release date because it isn't.
