I've been playing Cello for over 8 years (started with classical and i'm now playing rock) and i've been self teaching my self Piano and Guitar recently and now im getting into more computer generated music and mixing everything together i.e. incorporating acoustic cello into techno and unique things such as that.
Though at the moment i've been having wierd sound card and recording problems so I havent been able to get live recordings on my own computer so i've been stuck with 100% computer generated music so I myself find it a bit fishy and amatuer but if other people like it then thats great.
Now the way I like to work is to get out a quick and rough copy of a whatever i'm making(much like a painter does or whatever) and if it's liked then I will keep going to another step where I will see if it is still liked. If not - well, each time i do a major step in a project I save it as new file so i can always go back and try something different. I don't really see the point in spending hours and days on a project and then being told "meh, i dont think it really fits the mod".
And im all up for having comments on the music - if the drum beat is liked but the melody isnt then ill keep the drums and try a different melody or whatever. that's totaly fine with me.
Now these aren't really complete projects - mostly samples of what i've been able to do with only a computer - these are the first projects i've ever done and are merely samples.

"Drumtest" is simply a little quick drumbeat i made and added some wierd noise.
"pianotest" is my shitty piano skills put to test with some drumbeat that I didnt really like.
"strings" is a sample of some strings that i did really fast.
"trumpet" was trying to do something military themed but i dont know.
"wierdambience" ...was trying to pull off something splinter cell'ish.
By the way if your wondering what equipment I use.
As my exterior mixing device/preamp I use a
LTO S-8 8channel mixing console
For electric and acoustic effects i use a
Boss ME50 guitar multieffects.
and i use a Roland EM-20 keyboard(old but gets the job done well).
As for software i use Logic Platinum 5.10 as my base recording program and i use Fruity Loops 5 though i'll be changing to cubase soon.
comments, opinions, critiques are very much welcomed.
