I've been using Office 2003 for a work and Excel seems like it could have been improved in a lot of ways. So I'm thinking of giving Microsoft Office 2010 trial a shot.

>They don't even tell you how long the trial lasts. Anyone know?

>Anyone had any trouble uninstalling it?

>Can I activate a trail version?

>Do you like Office 2010?

Thanks.

Office trial susually last 30 days. I like 2010 - much like 2007 but with a few nifty things added. Never had trouble removing Office.

If you like Office 2010, you can go buy Office 2007 new from a major retailer that has it on sale for cheap(er), then go to microsoft's site and download the matching Office 2010 product for free.

That's how I got my Office 2010, bought Office Home and Student 2007 on sale for for $99 from Amazon, then downloaded 2010 for free from Microsoft when it came out. Microsoft's free upgrade thing lasts until the end of October.

And yeah Office 2010 is great, the computers around my office had Office 2003 or Openoffice.org, going from 2003 (or Openoffice.org) to 2007/2010 is a huge improvement.

Great, thanks. Yeah, I had heard about them offering the upgrade for people who had only recently bought Office 2007.

Is there an auto-hide or roll-up feature for that huge ribbon? It looks like it will take up 1/3 of the height of my monitor. I almost never use any of the displayed features anyway, and that's the reason why a file menu is superior (In fact, I might hide that too, whenever possible)

So is it possible to have the ribbon appear only when you mouse up to the ribbon area? Or some other way?
