The web cartoons at the centre of a $2.1-million lawsuit by a Toronto police officer have returned to YouTube.

A series of eight animations featuring “Officer Bubbles,” a power-abusing police officer, were pulled from the online video-sharing site after the purported target of their mockery, Constable Adam Josephs, sued YouTube and 25 of its users.

Constable Josephs, a 20-year-veteran of the Toronto force, was nicknamed “Officer Bubbles” online after a video of him threatening to arrest a protester at the G20 summit for blowing bubbles near him went viral. The first video spawned the cartoons, which depict a muscle-bound likeness of Constable Josephs in various G20-related scenarios.

In one, the officer is shown ignoring a black-clad anarchist and an alien in a flying saucer, but arresting Santa Claus; in another, he is depicted brandishing an assault rifle to intimidate a politician questioning police conduct.

I once spat in the face of a sheriff, didn't go so well as this confrontation but cops are complete assholes. I'm sure the job pisses them off greatly, especially seeing that like 99% of the public break the law in one form or another, but come on! tell her to put the bubbles away or just take them away, but don't arrest the woman for it

some clarification:

the police officer cant take away her bubbles because it's not a crime to possess a bubble making apparatus. police officers cannot arrest someone just because they find that person to be annoying. that officer didnt arrest her. by his own admission she put the bubbles away eventually. she was later arrested in one of the sweeps for an unrelated reason not for the bubble blowing incident

What a bullshit video. Show me what happened in between the time she puppy-dog eyes'd the cop and when she got arrested. The situation looked resolved once she put them away, something else had to have happened for it to be brought up again.

Is it funny that he got pissed at bubbles? Yes. It the chick super cute when frightened? Yes. Is the video baloney? Yes.

a. asshole cop is being an asshole

b. video of cop being an asshole is posted for millions to see

c. asshole cop continues beign asshole by trying to sue youtube for making fun of him

d. asshole cop tries to intimidate people into not posting cartoons featuring likenesses of said asshole cop

c. torontonians laugh at asshole cop for acting like an asshole and whining when criticised for acting like an asshole

anyways I didnt edit the video I presented it as it was and when I researched further I found the actual lawsuit brought up by officer bubbles. early reports also suggested she was arrested at the scene however the defendant cleared it up in an interview which was posted after the video was posted. again regardless if she was arrested for the bubble blowing he threatened her with arrest for blowing bubbles. a charge obviously not supported by the other police officer who the perp was talking to when officer bubbles got in her face
