Halflife2.net is changing; the site is going through a radical redesign, and we want you, the Half-Life 2 community, to influence our new image.
The first thing we want to secure is an overhead banner for the front page. We’re giving you the chance to put your artistic and creative skills to the test - over the next week or so we’ll be holding a contest to see who can conceive the most interesting, innovative and appropriate banner for the site.
The winner will receive a special prize, and may have their banner used for the new Halflife2.net front page. The design can be as radical or as conventional as you like – just make sure it’s attention grabbing, and contains fresh imagery rather than outdated concept art.
Please make sure you read the contest rules carefully:

Rules
- Only one entry allowed per participant.
- To enter, you must be a member of our forums. Click here to register.
- The closing date of the contest is Saturday the 1st of July. Any entries submitted later than this date will not be accepted.
- Designs must be fixed in the Half-Life universe, or at the very least, must only contain references to Valve developed games.
- We reserve the right to disqualify any participant who cannot prove their entry is their own work. Please keep the original, uncompressed image file (with the layers intact if it was created in Photoshop). You do not need to submit this file, but we may ask you for it if you win the contest.
- The dimensions of the banner should be kept similiar to the current front page banner (width:900 height:140-160).
- Should the quality of entries prove to be unsatisfactory, the winning banner may not be used to decorate the front page (but will still recieve a Valve prize and forum recognition).
How To Enter:
- All entries must be submitted to the email address [email protected], the “subject” of which must be BANNER CONTEST in capital letters, so we can distinguish your entry from junk mail.
- Emails must contain the completed banner, attached as a JPEG / JPG file.
- Emails must contain the entrant’s contact details, most importantly an email address and forum username.
- All entries must be submitted before midnight GMT on Saturday the 1st of July.
