OFFICIAL source of unlock time?

We all know that the release date for Half Life 2 is November 16th. But I can't seem to find any official source for the release time of 0001 AM PST. Everyone just seems to be assuming that's when it will be unlocked. Can anyone prove me wrong and point to a statement from Valve or Vivendi that says the authentication servers will be unlocked at 0001 AM PST?

and personally i think it may be the case that the game actually gets released later. why take it as a given that it will be 00.01 VALVE's time that the game gets released....why not 00.01 VIVENDI's time? (Los Angeles i think...)

Well, when CS:CZ was released, the unlock actually happened around 3 in the morning Valve time. They had some technical issues, or it would have happened around 1.

I'd imagine something similar for HL2 tonight.

I just hope they've fleshed out those issues. I'm in PST and I'll stay up as long as it takes (within reason) but I do have to be awake for work.

Yeah, the times were confirmed officially. It unlocks at 0800 GMT.

I just hope the retailer I preordered from gets off their ass and has it on my mat tomorrow morning. Or I may have to 'redecorate' their premises.... with a crowbar.

That seams convincing until you realise that the thread you link to is locked. The last post in the thread was made by the same guy who started it. He says:

Going to unstick this for a bit until we get a real confirmation.

Also will open it back up again.

So, still no proof of OFFICIAL word. A steampowered.com forum moderator is not a Valve or Vivendi spokesperson.
