Oh come on...actually why am I even surprised >_>

So it seems that there are several opinions regarding this new release.

  • Episode 3 will become another Duke Nukem Forever
  • It is taking longer than normal due to disagreement on the direction of the project
  • It's taking longer than normal because of an engine overhaul
  • It has been scrapped and thrown in with a Half-Life 3

I wouldn't be surprised if it is going to be a half-life 3.

Half-life 1 came out on November 19, 1998.
Half-Life 2 came out on November 16, 2004.
Roughly a six year difference.

If the pattern continues, we should see the third half-life this November.

Sure would be nice to hear it from the guys at VALVe though...

Episode Three is the new Team Fortress 2.

Is he serious?

:O

Pattern?

There are two data points!

right... and as with every theory in this thread, it's just that -- a theory
previous actions are the best determinant of future behavior

oh and I love your err.. "logic" that because I don't have 1000+ posts, I have no idea what I'm talking about, Mr. Sammy Hagar.

It was sarcasm.

You won't last a day here without being able to detect it.

Mr. Sammy Hagar.

Even for these forums, that is way too low an insult. Have some class, dude.

And also, you are wrong and the xkcd comic does an excellent job of pointing out your logical discrepancy.

Also, the newbie comment was to explain why you were providing an highly illogical theory, NOT to say that the newbie-ness was the flaw itself.

I would take this opportunity to note that the comic which you say explains the logical discrepancy so well was posted by a newbie. So you are correct, the newbie-ness does not seem to be the flaw per se.

I hate seeing so much hate/condescension towards new members.

It so pointless to make them feel unwelcome.

It's not because they are new members.
It's because their ideas are stupid and they should feel as so for having them.

Just ignore stupid ideas and you'll be fine. I read silly things from long-time members all the time. It's part of the fun. Relax guys, take it easy.

you guys should see how it is on the black mesa forums.

I don't understand what Mr. Sammy whatever insult was and why it was so bad?

It's a joke. In my book, Van Halen (a band) started sucking as soon as David Lee Roth (original singer) left. Sammy Hagar (second singer) was nowhere near as amazing.

I like Sammy, but I have to agree here.

When they stop displaying a level of intelligence associated with toddlers, then sure.

Also, in before Glenn says" LOL YOU'RE ONE TO TALK WILLIE". F*ckin tea sipping hippie.
