I just saw the most horrid picture in another thread...I removed the link...But now I'm probably gonna have dreams about it. Everytime i close my eyes i can see it there.
I'm sorry. I didn't know people had a weak mind for girls half-way mutated into cats. :p

ok now I know the name of that feeling
that hapened to me when I was more child
but I didnt hav see darks things and hear noises
just paralisys(is more secary when you are in a position hard to breathe)and the feeling of ground shaking
sometimes I imaginated that someone was coming to me, I and canot move! that is scary shit!

is there some ghostly thing behind this?

here in my country are many believers in the aparitions
also that here are thousands of legends and stuff like that
I didnt hav see aparitions
but I know people that is very believers and said that they hav see death people and strange things in theyr houses

so maybe thats is the explanation here

*<RJMC> drink coffe, a lot of coffe, and hav a cross and blesed water*

I guess night terrors don't bother me too much anymore, because I haven't really cared about myself for a while. I still hate them them though. In nightmares things happen to other people a lot, and I sometimes get scared enough to throw up. Although, I suppose having night terrors when someone else is in the room and seeing something happening to them would be pinnacle of imagined hell, I've thankfully never experienced that. Night terrors happen more often when I'm thinking about how disturbing they are, so I try associate the phrase 'night terrors' with Homer saying "aahhh, cobras!"

I once heard a voice quite clearly in just like.. a regular voice, not menacing or anything say.

"YOU'RE HIDING, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?"

It really freaked me out. And then I thought it might be something in my subconcious telling me something about myself.. but there's not really much I could be 'hiding' from. :p. Not like I have any problems that I don't confront that bother me.

Oh, I've had a few dreams where my teeth were falling out. Horrible. I used to have awful dreams when I was younger. In each one there was the same people and the same thing happened. I got kidnapped by someone pretending to be a member of my family, and they took me away in a car where I couldn't move or talk... it was terrifying. ;(

I don't remember my dreams anymore. I know I have them, and I know when I've had a bad dream or a good one, but I can't remember what happened other than a few confusing images.

I've had my share of dreams with my teeth falling out. Recently I heard the psychological explanation for that. Shortage of sex! ;(

What denomination is he? I didn't think the Catholic Church performed Exorcism's any more.

Lutheran. It wasn't like a formal ceremony and shit like in 'The Exorcist', he was just there with the woman, praying and helping her through it all. Despite the Catholic church's stance on practicing exorcisms, I'm sure they'd still happen, because if someone was possessed by a demon/foul spirits, then a priest is going to do something about it in some form or another. It's kinda like a doctor's hypocratic oath to save lives in a way.

Well this only happened to me once..

I think it was about 2 years ago.. I was really sick, with fever and all that, so I slept in my parents bed with my dad because he wanted to watch over me (he's a doctor).

Anyway I remember falling asleep, and suddenly waking up in the middle of the night, my mind was fully awake, I opened my eyes, and to my surprise I was still dreaming, with my eyes open.. I don't really remember anything after that, but my dad told me I started screaming like I was screaming like a little girl.

Anyone else experience this? I think it has something to do with my terrors, I remember things being far away...

Yeah, esepcially for the first 15 or so minutes that i'm awake, also I feel somewhat outside, or inside or something. I feel like my body is a door to the world, or an interface. Kinda like gloves that are in a glass box (youknow ones they have viruses in and moonrock, hope you understand). And it's as if i'm another person somewhere else thats just controlling this body. It's really wierd. Some mornings I have it, others it's non-existant.

Hmm.. everything said in this thread is pretty freaky. I've never had night terrors, at least that I can remember. I've only had one nightmare in the last ten years too. There was this sniper outside my house, and I was talking to him. I could see the red dot move around the house and when I would look out the window the dot would be on me.

I've had dreams that I have thought were so real. They have always been positive though. One time I could fly around these snow-capped mountains and it was just like a state of euphoria. Sometimes I will dream about people I know and then the next day I will be so depressed. I'm not sure why.

Wow, this is amazing.
I read this thread over when it first surfaced in this forum - didnt really look over it in detail and forgot about it until last night where I experienced what was most certainly a night terror...I immediately thought of this thread when coming round from it, so searched it out to share what I felt.

Its really like nothing else I've ever experienced, no nightmare compares. I started to come round to some sort of loose consciousness, and suddenly there was this overwhelming, total sense of fear - I didnt know what I was afraid of, but it was utterly terrifying - really hard to describe. I think my eyes may have been open, although the room was pitch black and all I wanted to do was turn on my bedside light. Thats when I tried to move my arm and found myself completely paralysed.

I kept trying to move all over but nothing would happen. Thats when I started to hear the sound of what I knew was my own breathing, but it was really fast and rattly - it really freaked me out. I could hear the blood rushing through my ears too, and tried to yell out so somebody could come and help but all I could manage was a dull sort of guttural whisper.

After what seemed like ages (but I have no idea how long in reality) I must have managed to turn the light on, reassure myself somehow and fall back into normal sleep. I've never had anything like this happen before, but if I hadn't read this thread I would have had no idea what was going on.

Googled it in the morning and found the page linked at the top of this thread. It looks like sleep deprivation is my cause as I haven't had much sleep lately; so I know an earlier bedtime is the solution. But I'd never have found this out if I didnt have a name for it - so thankyou for posting and sharing.

Wow, I better watch out, I usually don't get much sleep either. I don't think this paralysis has ever happened to me luckily.

Oh, and your sig, I have a T-Shirt that says that! Got it from ThinkGeek.com.

Well I've never been a big one on early bedtimes and usually stay up ridiculously late but I guess I've had unusually low amounts of sleep recently - maybe the old body clock just snapped or something, I dont know..its definately not stress or the other common causes.

thinkgeek is a quality site :) props to coolsig.com for this one tho.

Yeah, everytime I experience these paralyze thingies I can't scream or talk either.

It was a long time since I experienced it though.

By the way, isn't this a really, really, really old thread?
