Oh my god. This is killing me.

Exactly. It's as if everytime this discussion comes up the more elite of the bI can't believe some people have the balls to say they dislike Halo fanboys.

I don't own a console, but in the name of research (for undisclosed project) I've recently been playing through it on the PC (though the release of TF2 has hampered my progress somewhat recently) and I have to say beyond the now dated graphics, it's not a bad game at all, and I can see why it won so many plaudits at the time. Certainly I wouldn't hold it up to HL or Deus Ex as gaming experiences go, but the levels are nicely done, the game play is balanced and the story is engaging enough.

I agree that a mouse is probably better than a controller. But I don't have a PC right now that can run ANY games. I don't see how it's so crappy to play shooters on a console. If I had the right PC, I'd get the OB on PC. I think that using a controller isn't THAT much of a disadvantage. \

In the end, these debates are just a bunch of elitists trying to really cleverly insult people who play shooters on the other platform. Another way to describe these debates is "worthless".

Let's just all agree that, while the mouse/keyboard setup definitely has its advantages, a joypad is by no means an ass-backwards way of playing shooters.

pfffft please.

A real FPS player plays with real guns and real people.

Did it ever occur to anyone that this thread was started with no intentions for a console vs. PC debate?

Exactly!
If you use a controller, you just have to learn how to move and move your crosshair at the sametime. I usually find controllers a lot more fluid then Mouse and Keyboards.
They both have cons and pros

Can anyone mention a pro of the controller? All you say is how it is not that bad, but how does it top it in any way but being able to recline comfortably while holding it?

The PC m k setup is very accurate and you do not get turned around easily, for example especially in one of those games where every time you get melee attacked, the screen shakes. Trying to find the thing attacking you while this is going on is difficult on a joystick.

And the more bothersome thing about it is that you have to cycle through weapons to get to the one you want while you can just quickly press a key and bring up the one you want on the keyboard. Consider how many functions you can use on the keyboard that are not on the controller due to a lack of buttons. It is very accessible with the setup to run and jump with accuracy

So basically your post can be summed up in the phrase "I didn't read the thread".

Paypal is ****ing killing me. I have been waiting for a week for my money to finally arrive. By the time it will have arrived the US currency will have gone up and it won't be enough. The worst thing though is when my paypal account was not verified and I sent the money via online transaction directly from my bankaccount it would arrive in 2 and 3 days.

I read a lot of you being defensive, but not a lot of good features of a controller, atmospheric is not the word for bad movement

Mouse and keyboards are great for games that require fast paced action and reaction. I wouldn't say there is a drastic difference in playing FPS games on consoles, as opposed to PC, the only difference i can really think of is the turning speed but most of the time developers who do their jobs well don't have to worry about that.

Also, gamepads are better for driving games, beat-em-ups and platformers.

This has been proven false on two accounts that I know of. Really, do some research first. The mouse is better for driving games than a WHEEL if you want the truth.

His opinion maybe?

I'd agree.

The only thing that would stop me from buying 360 TF2 is the PC vs. 360 feature, but since that feature is going to be disabled, I think it'll be fair play.
