When Hl2 is finnaly released. And we start to multi play each other. We need to have our own way of reconising each other as forum members. (Like the unreal 2 forum members do.) So A prefix of [HL2F] Name.
Its just an idea that ive had for a wile. If someone has a better idea post it.

ya, my CS, DoD, Halo, CoD, and Sven name is [hl2.net]thehunter1320 already... all we need is a server for CS or sven that will be converted to an HL2 one when it's released

1) Munro doesn't want the site used as a tag, I don't blame him tbh
2) Isn't this the whole point of aliases.. I doubt there's hundreds of people called thenerdguy..

Unless you're all muppets who use one alias for forums and one for instant chat and another for gaming.. that really annoys me.
 
my tag is Jon[]+[] in games usually. Trying to register just Jon is usually hard because its always taken hehe go figure. So i just tag TheCanuck at the end on forums or something that requires registration to show the world i'm canadian.

my aim, e-mail, forums are all thehunter, just cause i have a clan tag on my name doesn't mean i'm a "muppet"

and i understand why munro wouldn't want it as a tag... but we aren't creative enuf.... and, if i may ask... if u read this munro... can we have a forum in the general forum area thats devoted to gaming in general? or like the people who want a HL2.net clan.... please?!?!?!?! we could recruit from there too and stuff... like really a hompage/forum thingy.... or just a fourm.... or anything, it's ur site :D
 
The reason I have my name on games as GingerNinja and Marksman here is because I allways used to use marksman until about 4 months ago.... Now I use GingerNinja.

Just in case you think i'm a muppet..... :p
 
I have a better idea. Wait til HL2 is out, make a sticky thread where us members can post our HL2 aliases and what servers we commonly use, and in which we can PM and arrange matches and such. Much simpler and no filthy tags :)

BTW if anyone uses the CoD Xtra NZ servers my name is Le Mayo ;)

Although that name does show up occasionally....you can always ask if its me.
 
We had plans on getting sponsored servers, im not sure what happened, they may still exist.
What was going to happen was we were going to get a UK server, US West, US East, and one somewhere else.

I use Ragemare if MrChimp is taken as it's quite a common name. I don't really see whats wrong with useing [HL2.net] as a tag other than some bad representation by certain members.
 
We should have a server which provide Low pings
 
If we do it I say we should still have [hl2.net] in the tags , it looks cool and theres no reason not too , its a silly thing to be worried about.

ANyway HL2 wont be out for a while anyway , no news is bad news. Anyway if you dont get your hopes up and it comes out , its extra Yay.

FARCRY:=Gorgon[HL2.NET]
All future games I will have the same name except for Quake4. :)

thx, i kinda stole it from some other tag is saw that was |||+||| so i just changed it to what i thought looked better
 
I use Shuzer in everything.. if it's taken, I either use Shuz3r or BlackX (I've never had to use BlackX though lol)
 
A clan based on the HL2net forums would be stupid imo... server(s) would be cool though.

as a dialupper, I'm not familiar with clan syntax conventions, but why isn't the clan name at the end, so you see the person's name first?

In the frenzy of battle, I'm more likely to recognize:

FictiousWill [HL2.net]

than:

[HL2.net] FictiousWill



Or am I completely out of my head?
 
no you're not out of your head, some clanners follow that practice.

if people are so against having [HL2.net] as a prefix, then why don't we all agree and vote on a different one?

i think servers would be good but clan bad. Clan means obligation, and in tourneys, anybody whose a hl2.net forumer is in, meaning some bad players would get in and ultimately result in rapage lol. I dont mind playing online with everybody tho. Maybe u could use [HL2.net] as a tag just to recognize yur from the forums, but not actually have a clan.
 
I think clan is a bad idea. it would be just too broad and difficult to organize. too many folks. I say keep it as a loose affiliation, just so us forumers can recognize each other and be all "sup"

and it would only be the ones who give a dman about anything who would even do this, which is basiclaly the cool ones :p
 
I think a clan is a bad idea as well, however, you can take the approach that my friends and I do. We're a group of friends that wear a tag, and we're not a clan. We never participate in tournaments or anything like that, we just all wear the tag.

I see no reason why all the HL2.net people can't wear the tag and not have a real "clan." It's not that hard a concept
