Well I know they're just bluffing (I'm smarter than them) but the reason being my going to sleep and waking up so late. Today it was sleep at 4-5am and wake up 3:30ish. Got any tips on how to wake up and sleep earlier? And an instant result if possible, cause I really dont want to do that sleep 15 min.s earlier every week thing.

Take a few sleeping pills about an hour before the time you want to go to bed. Your body will get used to it.

Just wake the **** up at an early time, you'll be dead tired but go to sleep at a normal time. However, your biorhythm will remain screwed for at least a week. I can know: I didn't build it down slowly and now I wake up at the oddest times :|

My parents are cool with me not getting a job just yet, I'm a full time student and there's only a week left before break is over (I'm taking winter classes currently anyways).

ah f-DP

Just force yourself to wake up early a few days....you'll wake up after 3ish hours of sleep the first day..you'll be able to stay up late again no problem. You wake yourself up early AGAIN..you'll be asleep at 10 PM no problem. It's how I got from my 4AM - noon sleep schedule to 10:30 PM - 6:30 AM.

You say you're smart but you still can't figure out how to wake up in time?

You have the same problem as me. When I'm not working, I tend to go to bed later than I should, and sleep for 10-11 hours, because I've always had a long day, and end up in a 27-29 hour day pattern. The trick is to figure out what hours you should be going to bed and waking up, and stick to them.

Its hard, especially as it means the first night, you go to bed way early and spend hours staring at the ceiling. The trick is, once you've started, to make sure you go to bed when you need to, not when you feel tired, regardless of what you would rather be doing.

I said I'm smarter than they are so I know they're bluffing, cant you read? Besides, sleep is a tricky thing when trying to make big adjustments. And I thank the people that actually contributed, I'll try out Pitz's idea first, it's sacrificial, quick, and crazy enough to work :dozey:

It was the ONLY way I could get my sleep schedule fixed up. Hope it works as good for you as it did for me! :D

And if that doesn't work, you can't say no to sleeping pills! :P

Some people sleep through them ffs. I personally sleep like a stoned coma patient, and alarms that are loud enough to wake my housemates in other rooms, do not wake me beside my head.

Kick you out of home because it bugs them, or because they think it's bad for you? I wonder if they realise you being in another place is gonna make it all the easier for you to act this way. Possibly they do and they're just trying to scare you into shaping up.

yeah I know, that's why I'm actually trying get it together.

In my country we have alarm clocks, you should consider inventing one with your gargantuan intellect :]

slightly risky advice, could backfire:

Don't sleep for an entire day. Then go to sleep at early evening.

Stay up one night and then go to bed around 9pm.

Agreed. Thats how I fix it when I eff up my sleeping. Just dont sleep one night and the next night sleep real early. Pretty instant results with that.

Option 1: An alarm Clock.

Option 2: Your computer speekers set to "very loud" and have a playlist on your prefurred media playing programme set to start playing at the time you want to wake up.

Here's a cool thing. See that clock next to your bed? I bet there is a switch on there that once the clock reaches a given time, it will make a loud noise that should wake you up...

Kill your parents and sleep when you please.

I just moved out... so I now sleep whenever I feel like it. Like yesterday I went to sleep at 7:15 am and woke up at 5pm. Then I went to sleep at 6:30 this morning, woke up at 12:25 and went to class. Sometimes I'll sleep 15+ hours if I have nothing to do.

EDIT: I suppose I should also mention that im only taking one class this month, lecture from 1-5pm and lab from 9pm-1am.

Kill yourself.

Thirded on staying up and falling asleep the next night. It becomes a lot easier when you have something to do in the mornings; you said classes are coming up so that'll force you to wake up.

Some people are just night owls though. If I don't have anything to do the next day(s), I always end up staying up. Even if I haven't slept in over a day or two, once night rolls around I always end up staying awake no matter how tired I was during the day. Hell I just got up an hour and a half ago (10pm) after going to sleep at about 7am. Now I'm gonna be up 'til who knows when.

Time to stop leaching off your parents and get into the real world. They would be doing you more of a favour if they gave you some cash and kicked you out the door because then you can start your own life.

Alarms work sometimes, but most of the time when I try that now, unless I really need to be up, I'll just wake up, turn it off and go back to bed.

I've seen a cool alarm somewhere that goes off like normal, then if you put it on snooze it rolls off your dressing table/whatever and drives around the room randomly for awhile. Then the next time it goes off, you have to actually get up and find it :D

Alarms suck, I end up unconsciously getting up and turned them off then later I have no idea why 'they didn't go off'. A cool alarm would be one where a bucket of water is poured over your head.

They should put a bluetooth speaker in pillows and link 'em to alarm clocks.

I would have got my gun out and waved it about screaming.

It's usually the best way to handle these kind of situations.

people still posting here? talk about digging down there.
Oh, and it had nothing to do with alarm clocks, its about biorhythm.
