Yesterday i downloaded the E3 vid. I have already seen the bink vids.

That strider is so amazing It got me all hyped up again for HL2 again.
The buggy vid doesn't look so good gameplay wise, but when the "heleicopter" thingy crashed into the player i was amazed.

I must admit my enthusiasm for HL2 has diminished somewhat since the delay, but only to the extent that it's still uncertain as to when it's finally going to appear. Sadly the hype i had for Hl2 has fallen...fallen hard. I still look forward to the game but not like i used to.

Although...its strange. When i watch the vids, i get kinda excited, but wat really excites me is thinking about the enthusiasm i had for the game. Back in the day when this site was brown, and the forums were white. Seeing the e3 vid for the first time...Man im getting that feeling in my legs already.


I jsut hope this site stays afloat enough to return to its former glory, rather than become a small rarely visited site...or worse, vanish into the ether and beome a myth; People will say things like "I just heard a story about a site...a great site dedicated to halflife 2. They said that the admins ruled over millions (Time often exagerates these things) of citizens" then others will simply poo poo (I watched the best episode of Blackadder goes forth the other day...most wont notice the reference) the idea as make believe. Of course there will be a few "crazy" old guys known only as Mr B, Mr Sparrow and Stone...These old guys will speak of the wonderous times that were had before...The Hack

I dont just say this because im a mod but because this place still has a lot of potential.

heh if I feel my excitement waning I watch them again and think hmm now what will I be able to do with that engine once I've got my grubby little mits on it. All these neat features I previously was forced to do in pre-rendered I can do in realtime, and when I get bored I go work on my mod for a bit, there's enough there to keep me busy for years now.

Though those damn test spheres on the HDR demo area annoying

Yeah, don't worry farrow, it'll all be fine. Soon, HL2 will be out, and while most of us will be playing it, some will be out there making mods for it. And exactly at the point most of us will have gone through the game, the first mods will come out, giving a rebirth to the whole process. Don't you worry, you guys have the best HL site out there. And I have a really cool sig right now, cool enough to keep attracting new people like a magnet in an ironstore. That should help too.

I think about it once a day, i have other things to worry about during my day

And anyway, when it comes out, I'll buy it and play it, i dont care if its today or 5 years away, I'll still buy it.

Like DNF, i dont care when it comes out, i'll still be in line to buy it. I wouldnt not buy it becasue its late, or not as graphically good as games out at the time. I would buy it becasue of what it is....the sequel to a great game.
