um... I start up Windows XP and it's obviously not running the executable that show's me all the icons and the bar thingy at the bottom, what should I do?

Reboot, tried that.

You mean you can't see the taskbar, and see no icons on the dekstop?

Yeah I also can't right click and go into property's.

I think explorer isn't running.

Right, have you tried just leaving it for a while and see if it starts up properly?

If not you might have to see if you can fix it through another shell

You know the little "windows" button in the bottom left corner of your keyboard? Press that and R at the same time. Then enter "explorer.exe" into the window that pops up. If it works, it'll start up explorer, and problem fixed.

Thanks, but it worked for about one second then went off but thanks anyway at least I now know what's going on and thanks Comrade Badger too.

I think I have to change the priority of it, I'm ganna see if I can change that without it running.
