Older woman, younger man?

Is it right for a younger man to date an older woman?

Just to get people's opinions on the matter;

Is a relationship between a younger man and an older woman viable? Seems that a lot of people I've met are against it, but I don't see why you can have a 26 year old guy have a relationship with a 19 year old gal, but not the other way around.

So, opinions?

I know someone who's just going to love seeing this...


Its not morally wrong, but I know it can cause trouble sometimes. My dad is a year younger than my mum, and that doesn't really make a difference.
 
As long as they are both consenting adults defined by the law and both love each other, i don't see a problem.
 
*shrugs* No idea. But the older women love me, so I just wanted people's opinions on it.

No problem with that.

I might be a bit biased considering my relationship now.
 
Hugh Hefner is 71 and dating women a third his age, I don't the problem with men dating older women.

I'm 19. The latest prospective woman in my life is 26. Everybody I know is in the "OMG thatz 7 yearz n00b!" mode. I decided I needed reassurance, so I came here.

It depends on the circumstances.

There's a lot more variables for love than just age. I, for one, do not know these variables at all.

Consider yourself reassured, nothing to worry about really. If they're fine about men dating women 7 years younger then have a rant at them about double standards.
 
The age difference between 19 and 26 doesn't matter. You're both adults now - you're on the same terms. It's different when you're young, as the same age difference could be a 15 year old going out with an 8 year old. You change alot in those years :p
 
I wouldn't say you're on the same level at all. Go for it. But whatever you think of yourself, you've not stopped maturing...niether has she, but thats different. So... things can change.

She's 4 years older. (I'm 21) So it's similar to you.

I'm never bothered about it, we have the same interests, get on really well, etc. Never get any trouble about it, everyone is very accepting of it.

I say focus on the character and the personality rather than worrying about what people might think of you. Whatever makes you happier. That's my advice.

7 years is not much when you are both adults. You are not an adult.
 
No problem with that at all. Although the only older girl I've been with has only been by a few months.

Not at all. Unless the difference is like 15+ years...
 
Yeah i almost dated a 27 year old mom when i was 18 (MiLF!!)..she wanted to be my sexual teacher...but i was to much of a chicken... :( i regret it now..

meh there's nothin wrong with it, except when you go to the bars and the cougars all go for like the youngest guys, it's hilarious yet scary haha
