Just heard on irc that valve will be unlocking it at 10pm their time due to the retail sale of the game..Exactly as Doug said they would...for once Doug has not lied...

Did Valve even say they would unlock it before the 16th?
 
It's not going to be unlocked tonight. They will wait till tomorrow morning and give out a statement and hit the big red button (That is if they are going to unlock it early).

Just wait until theres some official news on Steampowered.com. Don't believe someone on irc...

Yeah.. He really did say they would, Doesn't mean we should believe this BS, but doug Lombardi did say they would unlock it on steam as soon as it was sold in stores, then he alluded toward like.. "if it gets sold in stores early.... who knows" or something like that like

you know.. a drunk guy wearing a toga on the street came up to me and was screaming something that sounded like "half life release terrific!" also, some spit coming out of his mouth looked like a lambda

therefore, hl2 = coming out!! probably right now, because that guy was very excited

The only thing I've heard to this effect is a quote by a "Steve Gibson" of Shacknews saying that VALVe told him something to that effect. Nothing about Doug saying squat.
 
Honestly, this is one of the things that makes these forums fun.. Its fun to watch some random post stir beehive. You have your standard "Screw you.. your clearly lying.. I'll eat your face" guy.. and then there's the "HOLY CRAP THIS MUST BE TRUE THERE IS NO CONCIEVABLE WAY THAT IT ISNT PRAISE ALL MIGHT ALLAH ABOVE" guy And let us not forget the classic "I hate threads like these.. and yet somehow I am encouraging such posting by making 14 or so posts in the thread" guy.. Lets just sit back and watch the hilarity ensue.. WHOS GONNA BE WHO?! I DONT KNOW! There's only way to find out. *Gets chips and mountain dew... sits back and enjoys the show*
