me too, the 3 CD install took some time but after 20 minutes I could finally start HL2 for the first time. The intro sequence didn't run too smooth so I updated my graphic drivers but thereafter everything was fine.

I really like the ambient soundtrack and the first level where you don't have any weapon but must fight your way through ruins of city17 while protecting Alyx. The opening is great although too heavily scripted. I didn't have too much time playing HL2 but what I saw was amazing. Can't wait to play through the rest of this game...

lol you noob! you have to shoot that huge picture frame, it comes crashing down in front of the entrance that they come through, then you run to the side and DO NOT MOVE AFTER THEY START RIPPING THROUGH THE PICTURE! then they cant sense you, drop a grenade right between them and take of running, since they cant see or smell, they will tear eachother up thinking it is you, its best to run to the left so you can duck behind that little couch (not much cover i know but peek out of the corner and you can watch them kill eachother) then you only have to kill the last guy. (hint: GAS CANISTER... find it )

hm, I still haven't found the gas canister in HL2... but neither did I find it in Maniac Mansion

The final boss is hard. Hes a big floating ugly baby twice the size the one in HL. Its scarey.

I love the bit where you drive the buggy off the cliff before jumping off onto the chopper piloted by alyx. Of course it's all scripted...or so i thought. It seems HL2 has defied everyone by allowing freedom...when I mentioned the chopper jump to a pal he told me that with him the bridge hadnt been blown up and he had driven to the top of a multistorey carpark and got picked up by alyx before doing that but with the helicopter minigun. Im currently on taht bit where your trapped in the slums under the highway and this srtider just steps down of the highway. Iv killed it by nading a telephone pole which fell on it, but then that big beast bursts out of the broken subway car and I cant kill it. But its bloody great innnit?
