yea I know what you are saying... "finally" but seriously I hate around 3,00 words on the choices you have for buiying hl2, analyzed them all etc etc and then I hit submit and BANG IE crashes.....

Firefox still has some issues with like macromedia and such, but damn I'm gonna convert to them soon... IE is just so shitty!!! I used to not have a lot of problems, never complained but damn I'm starting to notice the crashes more and more!!!!!!

/rant

btw I wasn't joking about the 3,000 word thing either.... it was truely that long... took me an hour to write the damn thing!!!!

ouch... =/

get firefox or mozilla :)

Umm, it's called Mozilla Firefox... aren't they the same thing? lol 'cause that's what I'm on right now, Mozilla Firefox Version 1.0 Preview Release. :D

I abandoned IE long ago for a combinaiton of Mozilla and Opera.

Opera has built in mouse-gestures so its easy to navigate, Mozzilla does many things better than Opera so I use that for specific functions.

Note: I have only ever expierenced problems FTPing with Mozzilla, thats the only thing IE does for me now.

the only thing that pisses me off about these other browsers (firebird, firefox, oprah) is that some things do not work properly or at all.

i know this one site i visit.. firebird/fox does not display it properly.. so im forced to use IE. :(

Mozilla has more features. I like it better than Firefox.

It's called compatibility, it's down to the website, not the browser. I haven't come across many sites that are completely incompatible, although I have had some buggy frames and problems running flash stuff. Overall though, it's light years ahead of IE.

Try going to a website in IE that has CSS 2 enabled and BAM!

Firefox all the way.

IE cant read CSS... Will take ages until it'll learn to read CSS3.

Firefox plus extensions... oh my..

No problems at all.

Thing is, if IE can't read it, websites most likely aren't going to use it. Just doesn't make sense to from a web design perspective

CSS is so powerful its stupid not to use it. CSS3 will be even more powerful. Most designers use Firefox or a brower that can read code correctly.

I would give up on something really great because MS is too lazy to correct IE. Change browser.

Obligatory "Get Mozilla: Firefox" Post.
Anyway, do it. It's in every aspect, a better browser.

Actually, Mozilla is the first browser by that team. It combines all of the elements such as (e-mail, html editor, browser, IRC, and more) into one browser. On the other hand, if you don't want all of that, you can just nab Firefox (which most people do) which is only the browser portion of Mozilla.

Well, as far as I know, IE doesn't have a problem with CSS1 or CSS2 ... but I don't think you understood the point I was making: If the majority of the people going to the site wouldn't be able to properly see the content because of a browser incompatibility, why would the web designer waste time adding something like that? Sure, its powerful and cool and wonderful, but if even a small percentage of users will have a problem seeing something like that on a webpage, most professional website will just do without that unsupported feature.

You can use CSS on both browersers but you have to spend alot of time making it work correctly in IE (since i use firefox as my main browser). It wouldnt take too much work for MS with its army of coders to make IE follow standards.

Opera > Mozilla & Firefox

it is faster than both and handles plug-ins (quicktime, WM, etc) much better. it's mouse-navigation system is much easier to use as well. plus it keeps all windows in one actual "window" although i think mozilla does this as well, not sure though).

yeah...i know its a compatibility issue but it still ticks me off :frown:
guess i shoulda said companies and websites would adopt a wider range of support for web browsers because not everyone uses and feels comfortable with IE.

I'm just hanging out for SVG support. Oh baby.

And while you're talking about IE, has Microsoft fixed the issues with PNG transparency yet? In other words, is my avatar working correctly? It's been months since I used that browser.

use firefox. ie is the most unsecure and annoying browser in existance.
what do you expect from MS?

Man they need to redo IE, since it's so tight in with the OS it's supposed to be stable, at least that's what you would think!

I hope the WGF (Windows Graphics Foundation) for Longhorn won't be buggy though :O
