absolutely dig the mouth..amazing perpective and the feet...nails....you almost overdid with the details, but it's all good

I do however think you should:
define the shoulder more, and draw the line on the other side of the nipple....even though it's a fantasy creature, you have used nipples...nipples are not on the arms..not for any animals...but of course, it's artistic freedom, and i kinda like it...guess it just freaks me out

you have a few issues with the shading as well
the shadow of the arm should be on the other side, accordint to all of your other shadows...and maybe add some shadow to it's left ear.

OMG IS RIGHT!

Great work, just one thing... the shadow on it's (and I emphasize IT for a reason, lol) right left shoulder makes it look like his bone / skin is sagging into his shoulder. I donno', maybe you wanted it to be like that, but it just looks odd in my opinion.

BTW, I love those eyes, they're great lol. Nice work bro. :cheers:

Yup. I notised the flaws when i was shading him but didnt cared. it was done for phun and to try out adobe streamline witch makes a brilliant vector line from your scanned lineart. It wasnt intended to be colored.

few comments. the nipple isnt on his arm I know it looks that way, but I should have defined the shoulder a bit better, so it would have seperated the chest muscles and the arm muscles. but hell, it looks wierd and funny in some sort of way. so I will leave it I offcourse take all your comments into my.. must improve book. (scribble on the last page on my hardcover sketch book's)

I will make another critter in the same style called fatneck. yup he will have a fat neck ..

Yeah. I got inspired by aaron's style. I still have to show him and ask's what he thinks of it. When I scanned it in for coloring he went offline on msn, so I was like.. damn.

shading is very simple I have a wacom wich makes things much easier. I use ps7. I first run the lineart trough streamline, to get the vector. I import the vector into photoshop at the desired resolution and dpi.

then I set it to multiply and paint with a hard edge brush the base color inside the creature. this base colour goes at the bottom and then I start shading by using the soft brush on 10% flow and do the rough stuff then I controll the size of the brush with [ and ] and go slowly into the details. I usually start with the darker tones before doing highlights and I use loads of layers and save loads of times

oh...and thx for the hot key for brush size...I gotta learn those hot keys so I can work quicker and more fluently.

sometimes I disable pen pressure. for example when I take the time to do everything perfect. and you can controll the flow percentage by pressing
1 = 10%
2 = 20%
3 = 30%
4 = 40%
5 = 50%
6 = 60%
7 = 70%
8 = 80%
9 = 90%
0 = 100%

only if you've got the airbrush activated..otherwise you'll control opacity...

Streamline is a adobe product. it enables you to import psd's containing scanned in line art. this image can be converted into vector. so you can scale it without loosing quality in the line and everything is niceley cleaned up. for the best result I suggest using a 300/600 dpi scanned in line art image. you can save it as .AI format that you can open in photoshop and illustrator
