Prematurely. :O

A container full of black Nintendo DS Lite and DS games had gone missing in Hong Kong when it was making its way from China (where the DS Lites are made) to Europe (where the black Lites are launching). The reported loss was $18 million Hong Kong dollars (US$2.32 million).

That's about 1.26 million GBP. Which means a lot of DS Lites have been stolen there and mine better not be one of them.

How the hell do you steal an intire one of those!? D:

Kinda reminds me of the Carlsberg ads. So good the Asians hate to see it leave.

I don't think it was pirates, they said it had gone missing IN Hong Kong, i.e. either it might've been offloaded a truck carrying the container, they could've bribed the driver, it could've been stolen at the shipyard too ofcourse.:)

Oh man, I hope you get yours but that's some crazy shit.

edit - 303 posts, time to listen to some ****ing acid

I thought they had all become extinct!

At least I have my white one!

To be sure, a hot item like this will generate lots of cash for the thieves. I guess the manufacturers forgot to turn off 'loot glint' for that shipment--makes things way too easy to pilfer!!

Aye. Probably not in the traditional sense however. I believe pirates now rob and pillage not with cannons, but with AK-47's or something.

Those DS Lites are sexy!

I know of their location but you'll never get it from me MUAHAHAHAHA! Oh and...ARGHHH!

Idiots! I told them to get the container with the SILVER ones!

Dumbass, loot glint is clientside!

The theifs were probably thinking there were expensive cars in them.

"Ahh, my GT500"

2 million dollars for nintendo is like a penny for us. They're probably like "O well"

WTF! Did someone really steal a Cargo Ship? Wouldn't it be abit obvious?

Must be a bloody big ship to put another cargo ship in it.

Lucky son-of-a-bitch who ever stole them!

I dunno, this may result in availability problems when it is launched in Europe.

So, what happens? Do people get their money back?

No, the article stated they stole the cargo CONTAINER, or rather it 'dissappeared' -IN- Hong Kong, so it might've been the truck transporting the container was hijacked etc etc..

The shores of Somalia (since the nation is basically under anarchy) are the most pirate infested in the world. They do a hell of a lot of hostage taking/ransom demanding when they capture ships travelling near them.

In March 2005, two U.S. Navy ships skirmished with a group of suspected pirates off the coast of Somalia, killing one and wounding five, the Navy said.
