you can see my spec down below, i did the

http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_supply/

and got a 306, my original PSU is a antec true 550 watts.

this is only a 350 will this be enough??

Plus wtf is an ATX, and it has a efficiency of 86% is that good?

i dont mind forking over 200 bucks for the pure silence im going to get with this, but is it worth it, is this a good psu? antec is good brand right, but whats about its design is it any bad? should be good.

I wonder how it is cooled though?

The shell looks like its a big heatsink, so thats probaly how it get the heat out. Although I doubt it works as well as fans, seeing as how it comes from antec you can probably trust them.

But if you already have a 550 power supply, unless you highly value having your computer be a bit quiter, its definitely not worth it. There are fans inside your computer too, so that psu wont make your computer completely silent, unless of course its water cooled. I dont really care about my computers noise that much, even though it is pretty damn loud, and i sleep next to it.

$199 for a PSU??? You may aswell get an Antec true power as they are near silent. They use what antec call 'low noise tech' which basically means they have a temperature sensor which adjusts the fan speed to compensate when the PSU and case gets hotter.

I have an Antec TrueBlue which is basically the same as a TruePower PSU but it emits a neon blue glow from both the rear outside and lower inside fan. To test the PSU i had my system running with just the PSU fans and stock AMD 64 cooler to see how silent my system was and i couldnt hear anything at all in a silent room when i was 10 feet from my box. A little nearer however and you can just hear a slight humm but i put that mainly down to the CPU fan as the PSU was near silent.

Ive also got 2 antec 120mm smartcool fans that are also temp sensing and very quiet.
