One Year On.

Well it's been quite a year. Doesn't seem that long since Half-Life 2 was released, it's just flown by. So how will you be celebrating HL2's anniversary? I'm personally going to play through HL1 and all of it's official expansions, followed by HL2, in one day. Should be fun

yea man one year at midnight tonight. I remember this exact moment last year, i was working and we got a package and i opened it and there sat Half-Life 2, and i just looked at the box for the rest of the day, since i couldnt leave and install it since it was locked and i had gotten the gold edition of it on steam. I remember coming home from work with only a few hours to go. Couldnt sit at home so i was at my friends and hes not one to be excited for games, but even HE was excited for this one, which made things hell for me. Finally only about 10 min to go, so i got huge stash of sodas, chips, and other snacks and sat down at my PC which i had gotten only a few weeks before strictly for HL2. At to my suprise, at EXACTLY midnight it unlocked, i mean i know thats what they said was gonna happen but i was still impressed. I played it till 5 in the morning, slept for 2 hours, went to class, came home, played it till i beat it, so i got it on Nov 16th, and beat it thta very day. So thats how im gonna celebrate the greatest games 1 year anniversary, im going to start at exactly midnight and beat it again, no breaks though, straight threw.

On the plus note today I got accepted to goto Glasgow and Stirling University now just waiting for the other 4 to get back to me then I have to choose

on topic: i don't plan to celebrate the anniversary.. i'd have liked to have aftermath to celebrate with but alas that's another story. I'm currently back with the resistance (about the bit when you first meet striders) on my fourth play-through, though.

Yeah, Aftermath would have been a good way to celebrate, but I'm sure Valve don't think along the lines of "well, it's one year since we released HL2, better mark it with an add-on pack release".

On-topic, looking back I didnt do anything, in fact I didnt even load, steam. But the last time I played the whole game, I realised it was better than every FPS I had ever played before.
