Many critics of Bush critics have said why don't you ask soldiers what they think as they are the ones fighting. Well, these people did and here are the results:

The poll found solid support for the president’s Iraq policy. Fifty-six percent of those in the Military Times Poll approved of Bush’s handling of Iraq.

Still, those numbers are not much higher than support in the United States as a whole. Civilian polls before Saddam’s capture showed about half of Americans backing Bush’s Iraq policies. Support for Bush has risen significantly in public opinion polls conducted after the dictator’s arrest.

So do the other 44% of troops just hate our freedom and democracy?

Wrong, the poll was about whether or not they supported how Bush handled Iraq. It has nothing to do with whether or not they like the government.

However, constantly pointing out negativity and never saying how america ever does any thing good sure does seem anti-american to me. If you dislike the country enough to flame it every chance you get, it seems hard to believe you would like it at all.

i think the main reason is the fact that the republicans are far more willing to fund the military, which garners support from military members, I mean, as we clearly saw with Clinton, military funding dropped drastically and they were kinda pushed off to the side, I know I wouldn't be real keen on supporting someone if they didn;t that paying me for my job was that important, they may be all-volunteer, but they're still expecting a paycheck every month, i'm sure there's more reasons though

Republicans are more willing to fund the military, well yes, if you are talking about expending the military. Democrats don't want to expand the military as we have about 8 times the military budget of the next largest military in the world; China. However, Republicans don't care about actual veteran benefits as they demonstrated when they cut those benefits which the democrats fought for.

And I don't deny that republicans are more willing to go in to the military than democrats. Why the hell would democrats want to join the military, most of them clearly don't agree with this war.

The reason no media mentions this is because the right wing will come out and try to destroy any dissent in the media; as they did with newsweek. This lead to huge financial losses for them. John Conyers in the house and Kerry in the senate are leading a fight to start an investigation in to why we went to war; Republicans are blocking that investigation with the majority.
