These people waste five years making a game that isn't 100%? I've already cancelled my pre-order and will never buy a product like this again. I'd rather play Super Metroid.

No, I think it's clear that these people have been sitting around the office doing nothing so they can hype the game more.

I've waited 5 years for this game and then they have the gall to turn around and only give me a 98% effort. This is simply unacceptable and isn't worth the money.

Please bear in mind that 98% is someone esle's opinion and not necessarily accruate.

I've beaten Super Metroid in under an hour and a half, and that game was leaps and bounds beyond Half-Life 2. So they have no excuse for taking 5 years to develop it.
 
98% is good. What were you expecting? A perfect game? Not everything can be perfect. It might have to be perfect in your world. But most of us here would rather play the game just so we can continue the story that started 5 years ago and get a great gaming experience from a NEAR TO PERFECT GAME.
 
All I know is taking 5 years to accomplish anything under 100% is pathetic. They need to go back to the drawing boards and implement Morph ball.

Super Metroid is a classic though, of course it is viewed higher atm.

Curious, what other games have you played? What did you think of Metroid Prime? :)
 
I'm simply discussing Half-Life 2 and how a 2D game totally destroys it. I did not ask for any of your snide comments. Now as I was saying, I think they should add the Charge Beam.

First off. VALVe made their own gaming engine (Source, if you didn't know MrMetroid.) I dont know how long it would take to make that but still.
2. They need to write a story.
3. They need to start making the gaming world and models which would take months to make.
4. They need to start writing the scripts.
All kinds of other stuff. Then some hackers stole the source code so VALVe needs to remake it after that. If you even read HL2 news you would know that VALVe was trying to work out as many bugs as they could. So they could make the best FPS game they could. After watching all the HL2 vids I think they did a pretty damn good job on it.

I guess you have to own a decent computer to get the best out of it though.
 
I as a consumer should not be held accountable for the developers incompetence in taking security measures for what was said to be the most anticipated PC game of all time. If the designers had half a brain they would delete everything and make the game 2D.

In that case I recommend Codename: Gordon. You can play it for free off Steam (just needs to take a few minutes to download).

If you beat Super Metroid as quick as I can (which none of you here can) you get to see Samus in a bikini. Will Half-Life 2 have this? Probably not because the designers don't have the slightest clue as to what makes a game, and what breaks a game.
