Riot Films is currently in production for a Source engine machinima film, called Only The Strong Survive II: Delusion. It's a sequel to last year's popular machinima film, Only The Strong Survive. If you don't know what it is, you can download it free at our website: http://www.riot-films.com/. It's only 11 minutes long, so it doesn't require a huge time investment.
The story for OTSS 2 takes place directly after the events of the first film, following an assassin named Andy, who desires revenge for the loss of his partner. He infiltrates the towers of the Organization, to discover the people behind the deaths of his partner Brown, and his brother Alex. He discovers more than he bargained for, and ultimately must make a choice.
This is an ambitious and unique project, utilizing a blend of all currently known machinima techniques including scripting, live puppeteering, recamming, chromakeying, and so on. The film itself is a cross-genre piece: Film noir, action, drama, and suspense. It will be approximately 40 minutes, to be released in three parts. We plan to release the first act before the end of this year. It will be filmed in high definition (720p), 24p, and 2.35:1 Cinemascope widescreen for the highest possible cinematic quality.
Do not let our dedication to quality throw you off - we are not particularly looking for professionals, but rather talented people who can use the production as an opportunity to grow and learn. The only thing we ask for is that you finish what you start. If you can't handle that, then please don't waste our time.
Our team is small and focused. And friendly as hell, to boot. This production will be a collaborative effort on all counts, not a dictatorship. You will be able to give creative inputs to the film of your own, no matter how small your role.
Any help will be appreciated, but we need talents in these areas the most:
- 3D Modellers
- 3D Animators
- Texture Artists / Model Skinners
- Programmers (Special Effects)
- Hammer Level Designers
- FacePoser Designers
- General Source Engine Experts/Consultants
If your skills don't fall into any of those categories but still want to help, just tell us what you think you can do for us, and we may find you a place.
This is mostly a volunteer project, but everyone involved in the project will recieve:
1) A small cash payment upon completion of the project.
2) Credit.
3) DVD copy of the film, including a full resolution, high def WMV version.
4) An opportunity to work on future projects which will likely be paid positions.
In addition, we have a possible distribution deal in the works. We are affiliated with a popular Counter-Strike machinima film crew, and you can be assured that your work will be seen by hundreds of thousands of people all over the world.
