Only two versions of HL2 in europe?!?

Today I walked in the national gamestore of belgium to order my copy of HL2 (silver edition). So I tell the salesman I wish to Pre-order it. He then asks me which version, the normal or special edition. I tell him I know of three versions and not two. He then tells me the special edition is the gold edition and normal edition is probably the silver edition.
So I order the normal version, then I see the price... only 54€. I know the silver edtion is 60$ (the $ and € are comparable).
Anyone has any idea what all this is about?

normal = bronse, so only HL2 and CS:S. If you want DOD:S, buy silver or gold through Steam's website.

For DOD:S so far you can only get that from steam. But im sure they will release a Retail DOD:s sooner or later.

If you have a ATI voucher or got the BRONZE pack from steam. You can upgrade ether one to a silver or gold pack. Which give you DOD:S, HL:S, All other valve games.

Well I have neither of them. I bought the normal retail version which is the bronze steam version.
So i'm still a little worried.

I was supposed to get CE, but then I changed my mind. It just gives you a shirt and HL:S which I can probably get as warez anyways.
