Also, the only reason this car looks like this, is because it's prototype of military vehicle, and that's all Batman could get, for now. It's his beginning, everything he has looks rough, even his costume. Also if you see movie itself, it will make much more sense.

I guess it makes sense because Bruce Wayne can't really have some one build him a Batmobile. That would kinda ruin his secret identity, unless he kills whoever makes it.

Building the Batmobile is a job for Alfred.

Actually in the comics Bruce Wayne builds all his own gear. That's what makes him so cool. He's a ninja..........and a scientist.
