Open console in hl2-deathmatch?

How do I open up the console?
I can?t typt in the IP-address that I?d like to.

Same as in HL2

Options -> Keyboard -> Advanced -> Enable developer console
Then press ~ to bring up the console. Or the key next to 1 and above tab if your in the UK

If all else fails, put the following switch in your launch options:

-console

Then you can bind it to a new key:

bind p toggleconsole

In autoexec:

bind "p" "toggleconsole"

on some keyboards it is the ` key in the top left, near 'esc'. i know this thread is old, but this is a post for anyone who stumbles across it in the future (like i did)
