A post in the Bohemia Interactive forums reveals that eventhough Codemasters (the game's publisher) won't be present, Bohemia (the game's developer) will be showing off current and new titles. "We're pleased to confirm that Bohemia Interactive will be at this year's E3. Marek Spanel and myself will be in attendance at room 6941 of Kentia hall where we intend to announce our release plans for 2005 and beyond. We will also reveal further details about the games we're currently working on."

With the death of the Ghost Recon franchies, I'm counting on this to fulfill my military tactical gaming needs.

Awesome!
Can't wait for OPF2.
Takes place in 'Nam this time, though doesn't it?

Actually they've changed it I believe so that it takes place in the modern day in the Middle East.

I allways thought OP was a crappy game :D
I hope OP2 will be different.

What did you say? We'll be having no OFP-hating round these parts!

OPF is one of the best games of all time. Too bad the multiplayer didn't work properly. But all the mods, made the game 10x better.

OFP2 seems to have been in dev for agesssssssssssssssssssssssssss. It better be at E3.

OFP is a hell of game. Been playing it since it's release!

Yeah, really. I wish some developers would just keep their traps shut until we've got about a year to wait.

But let's not be negative nancies, eh? If OFP is gonna be at E3, this is a cause for celebration!

ohh please be true please be true !
I LOVE THIS GAME !

hopefully they fix everything that was wrong with the first one, like movement, which sucked, and make the AI a bit more realistic, I mean, how often does a person with an AK get a one-shot kill, while running, at a distance of easily 300 meters?

/me agrees

Loved the first one.... the freedom was an awesome change to say the least. :)

i had ofp1 but it was rather unstable, sometimes good performance sometimes bad, didnt look very good either on my comp but it had good variety in missions, i loved the sniper missions with your spotter, cant wait for this tbh.

I thought the movement suited OFP very well. We couldn't have people feeling like they were running on iceskates.

And although I do agree that the enemy AI was sometimes uncannily accurate, I never experienced what you just described. They almost always stopped and went into the prone position to become that accurate.

If there is one thing they can add which will make me happy it is realistic interaction between vehicles and players, by this i mean being able to actually walk into the back of a chopper and not fall through when it takes off, or drive a HTTV into the back of a hercules and it to actually take off properly.

This is mainly because i have played OFP more than any other game at LANs and we always loved vehicle based missions, pick ups, drop off, assualts e.t.c

There is "something special" about operation flashpoint, i have been playing it for ages and the only reason i don't play it at lans anymore is because it blue screens whenever i exit a multiplayer game when i have addons, annoying.

Go pick it up. Shouldn't be too expensive now.

Just be aware that getting it up to date can be a bitch.

Wow! That's awesome news! I read earlier this year that they wouldn't be showing :(

Too bad OFP2 is scheduled for 2006.

I think i'll reinstall OFP right now just to play it again. Loved that game so much.

great game - freedom was incredible
shame about some of the bugs

Well, I can't say about the running thing because they all seemed to do what Absinthe said for me. But I would say the AI was realistic. Because it acted like a trained soldier. Not any random russian numpty with a gun.

Although I also liked the way it made you get to the battlefield on a transport or something before you have a fight.
