Opposing Shephard looking for help

Well let's make this the definitive "Opposing Shephard is a Crappy Name" thread then.
I'll start things off by asking what exactly the name means.
Since the main character presumably plays the role of Cpl. Shephard, how exactly would he or she go about opposing Shephard?
I think it's unlikely that the mod play into the dynamic of conflicting loyalty with personal morality, so doesn't that make no sense?
If the title instead refers to the enemy characters who would oppose Shephard in his journey, is that the extent to which their motivations have been simplified?
The opponents oubiquitously oppose Shephard's objective of opposing "opression"?
That's quite the bout of circular logic there.
If Shephard obliquely opposes opponents of opposition, one's objective is obviously obsolesence!
So, clearly, the title does not refer to Shephard or his enemies.
Furthermore, the title cannot apply to the supporting characters, since opposition to the protagonist renders them inherently antagonistic as a result, creating the aforementioned paradox. So the title is inherently meaningless.
Another overlooked possibility is that the word "opposing" in this context is, in fact, used as a verb. Again though, this renders the plot dynamic rather shallow.
Shephard is there and he opposes things?
Why not just call the mod "Protagonist Action" or "Half-Life 2: Opposing Force 2: A Plot With At Least One Character dot com"?
I propose the much better name "Fugitive Studios Present: Adrian Shephard's Unintentionally Hilarious Postmodern Adventure!"
The exclamation point is part of the name!
