Oral sex lessons to cut rates of teenage pregnancy

Haha...yes i do. I won't quote from it though ;)

Anyway, this is my last post unless another one directed at me appears very quickly. (I have an exam at 9 tommorow )

Edit: Heh...I have 40 posts per page so this is still page one. Perhaps the 18 years of age thing may seem over the top, but i just think its one of those things that if you wait for you will enjoy so much more. Forget the "Oh but you won't be experienced" stuff.
see, i knew we'd agree a bit once the english to english language barrier is crossed.

on a side note, they're building an 8000 yard golf course here in colorado (but it'll be at 7000 feet so... hm i'll have to play it)

Did any of you guys ever see Monty Python's "the meaning of life"? Theres an absolutely hilarious sex education sketch in there with john cleese and wife giving a 'practical demonstration for the good of the pupils', great stuff.

It's a brilliant film, the kid who isn't watching is punished by having to play rugby.

lmao...yeah, its great. sorry, I just had to get the dvd out and cap a screenshot - see attached.

It can, if the person has a cut or an ulcer in their mouth.

The fact is you are ingesting 'fluids' (either male or female) both of which contain the virus. It's still fairy easy for it to get into your blood stream.

Yes, but the digestive system is much better equipped to cope with 'bad things' than elsewhere.

This is why you can swallow rattlesnake venom relatively safely, since the stomach and gastric juices break down the proteins in the venom.

I think this will only increase the amount of teenage pregnancies, sex education should be done side by side with eduction on relationships and family.

Personally, I first had sex at 13 and it did me and the girl no harm. We had been told about protection etc, so we used protection.

Stuffing more "Sex Ed" down peoples necks isn't going to stop them having sex. Changing the legal age won't stop them having sex. Making it a capital bloody punishment wouldn't stop them (Well, none of the above would have stopped me) so the ONLY solution is to shoot all the townies before they hit 10 years old. They are to stupid to use precautions despite being told about how vital it is.

The other major issue that is not addressed, is that alot of teenage girls want to get pregnant. I have talked to a lot of girls about this when I was back in school, and a large chunk would have liked to have a baby, right then and there (You know what I mean). Its womens natural function to get pregnant and have babys, and theres nothing we can do to suppress that.

I girls round my way, of about 15 with kids.. I keep thinking "I really ****ing hope that's your brother" but I mean, these people are now pinned down with kids for the rest of their lives.. .. perhaps they can do well for themselves out of that, I know two people's mothers did that.. they are now on local boards for banks, but they are the exceptions rather than the rule.

I find that hard to believe. You're telling me most 13 yr old girls want to have kids? I doubt it. But let's say they did. Let's use some self-control here. Just because they have a natural tendancy to want kids, doesn't mean they have to go get pregnant. You still have control over whether you have sex or don't have sex. Personally, this shouldn't even be an issue. Have some self-control, and some self-respect.

Yeah...I'm sure the "natural" urge could be used in defense in a rape case. You need self control otherwise we are no more than the animals we look down on.

Sounds good to me. No... really. Fact is, no matter what anyone does, teen pregancy will still be here in some small part. Teaching oral instead of full sex, although it sounds kinda... wrong..., might work. I don't know how effective it would be aginst preventing std's, although adding it to any current sex ed course could very well prevent pregnacy. Oral sex DOES provide most of the pleasureable benifits of sex, and there is certainly no way anyone would get pregnant having it. The goverment can't have a large impact on wheither or not teens have sex, but it can change HOW they do it.

Don't get me wrong, I really don't think anyone should have sex before they know about all the nice relationship junk that goes with it, but it's just not gonna happen.

EDIT: OMG, I feel like I'm wrighting a report for school.

Heh... gotta love the UK. I could do it at 16 but I couldn't watch it until I hit 18.

Stupidity is the one big issue; so education, full stop, could help rear this in. Either that or sterillising all those recognised as idiots. Saw a brief programme, I forget which, regarding some daft 17 year old girl who was convinced that a 13 year old boy couldn't have got her pregnant- and now, three years on, they're married with the resultant kids of that liason. She was seventeen, past the legal limit here, yet clearly knew next to nothing about the actual process (at least before the apparent "accident"); or perhaps she just didn't care.

'Course, we can explain how, but it doesn't mean they'll actually bother. A combination of contraceptions is a near infallible mix; rubber + chemical barrier = little chance.

Anyway, oral sex lessons?! Am I the only one that doesn't think a damn guide is entirely necessary to explain the phenomenon? If such desires are so natural though, I suppose, you could argue why any education at all is necessary as the prats seem quite capable of getting stuck in without prior explanation...

i haven't bothered to read the article yet and have instead just taken a brief look through this thread.

i think holding oral sex lessons has to be one of the stupidest things i have ever heard in my life.

What the UK needs to do is attempt to desensitize these horny little kids to sex from a young age. I mean, in the end, almost everyone in the world will have thought about it or/and done it. So why censor it. Why censor sexual organs! i just dont get it.

I think that if kids knew about sex before they got to the stage where they're madhorny, they wouldn't be as focussed on attraction of the physical kind instead of the more empathical/mental side.

Basically what i mean is that if the government could help to alter the way people think about sex from a young age then the teenpregnancies would decrease.

The most important aspect of preventing and reducing sex among young people is informing them of the consequences. If it does not prevent sexual activity, at a minimum it reduces sexual activity in almost all cases. Most middle schoolers are immature, but that doesn’t mean they’re stupid.

Teaching oral sex is just another way to introduce kids into sexual activity. Show some 6th graders what oral sex is and promote it as an OK alternative, you know the kids will be experimenting before long....which leads to actual sex. The step between oral sex and real sex is..."We're already naked and licking each other's private parts, fu*k this, lets just do it." Considering that, I wonder if cases of rape have gone up in their study.

I received offers for sex in middle school. If I knew about oral sex, I’m sure I would have been quite sexually active (actual sex) by the time I reached high school.

Quoted for emphasis....
The problem is, this 'new' education isn't an attempt to inform youngsters of the risks, it's to encourage them to experiment with Oral Sex. In other words encouraging youngsters into having sexual experiences, it may begin with just oral sex, but soon enough it will be full intercourse, and the next thing you know you've got a baby on the way.
